Once known as Love Island’s charming heartbreaker, Adam Collard has traded his lothario days for a life of love, fatherhood, and new beginnings with his fiancée, sports presenter Laura Woods. The couple, who welcomed their eight-month-old son Leo last year, are now navigating the joys and challenges of parenthood while planning their dream wedding. Originally set for an earlier date, Adam recently revealed to Mirror that their nuptials have been pushed to 2026—a delay sparked by more than just their recent home move. With a cheeky grin, Adam hints that their nine-year age gap might be playing a role, joking, “I think Laura’s holding off until I hit 30 so we’re both in our thirties for the big day!”

Adam, now 29, proposed to Laura, 38, in September 2024, just months before Leo’s arrival. The couple’s whirlwind romance, which began online in October 2023, has transformed Adam’s life in ways he never imagined. “Becoming a dad to Leo has given me purpose,” he shares candidly. “For years, I felt like I was in limbo—working hard, chasing material things, but with no one to share it with. Now, everything’s different.”
Describing Leo as a “100 miles an hour” bundle of energy, Adam admits fatherhood is no walk in the park. “He’s a handful, but so funny and everything we’ve ever wanted,” he says. “It’s challenging, but it’s put everything into perspective.” Unlike Laura, who comes from a tight-knit family, Adam’s upbringing was marked by the absence of his parents at different stages. This has fueled his determination to be the best father possible for Leo. “I want to compensate for what I missed and be there for him in every way,” he adds.
Laura, a natural in her role as a mother, has been Adam’s rock. “She was born to be a mum,” he says warmly. “We fell pregnant early in our relationship, and it feels like she was meant for this.” Together, they’ve built a life with purpose, recently moving into a new home they’re renovating—the place where Leo will likely grow up. The couple, who share a strong work ethic, now see their efforts in a new light. “We’ve always worked hard, but now we know why,” Adam explains. “It’s for Leo, for our family, for our future.”
While wedding plans are in motion, the couple’s recent move has pushed their big day to 2026. “We’d started planning, but with the new house, we want to tie the knot closer to our new place,” Adam reveals. The renovation of their dream home has taken priority, but Adam suspects there’s another reason for the delay. With a laugh, he teases, “Laura’s probably waiting for me to turn 30 so we’re both in our thirties—it’s her master plan!”

The couple’s playful dynamic shines through, but their journey hasn’t been without hardship. Laura suffered a devastating miscarriage earlier in 2023, a loss that deeply affected them both. Adam recalls the traumatic period, which was compounded by a terrifying accident when a chandelier fell on Laura’s face, requiring an urgent trip to London for treatment by top plastic surgeons. “We were driving while she was bleeding—it was a do-or-die situation,” he says.
The miscarriage, discovered just days after sharing their pregnancy news with loved ones, hit Adam particularly hard. “I blamed myself,” he admits. “Men are terrible at talking about miscarriages. We pretend we’re okay, but it’s tough. I felt helpless—nothing in my power could fix it.” The emotional toll led Adam to struggle with painkiller addiction, plunging him into a dark mental space. “It was a lot to process in such a short time,” he reflects.
Amid this challenging period, Adam was approached to join the latest series of Celebrity SAS, which aired on Channel 4 in 2025. Initially hesitant, he saw the show as a chance to pull himself out of his mental rut. “I nearly backed out because I wasn’t feeling strong,” he says. “But Laura encouraged me to do it. When things go wrong, having something to focus on helps.”
The grueling experience stripped away Adam’s tough exterior, revealing a softer, more emotional side. “It’s not a produced show—it feels raw,” he explains. “The interrogation was harder than the entire week before. They peel back every layer of you.” Fans of Adam’s Love Island days may be surprised to see this vulnerable side, a far cry from the “bad boy” image he once projected. “People will see the family man, the caring side that’s always been there deep down,” he says proudly.
Adam’s journey from reality TV heartthrob to devoted fiancé and father is a testament to his growth. “Everyone thought they had me figured out from Love Island—and they were right, until they weren’t,” he says with a smile. “Laura changed everything. I was just a stupid, immature boy before. She brought out the real me.”
As for future TV ventures, Adam’s got his sights set on one iconic show. “I’d love to do I’m A Celebrity,” he admits, chuckling at Laura’s playful objection to him being away for 21 days. “She’d be fine as long as she’s not pregnant. But Strictly or Dancing on Ice? No way—those are scarier than SAS with my two left feet!”
