Love Is Blind UK’s Ultimate Fake-Out: James and Amy Were Dating Behind the Scenes All Along

In a twist that Love Is Blind UK fans never saw coming, James Clark and Amy Jane, two contestants barely featured in the show’s second season, have revealed they’ve been quietly building a beautiful romance away from the cameras. While their love story didn’t make it to the Netflix spotlight, the couple’s chemistry is undeniable, and they’re now sharing their journey with the world.

On Thursday, August 21, James, 36, and Amy, 33, dropped a heartwarming joint Instagram video captioned, “A little snippet of the past year.” The montage is a love letter to their off-screen romance, showcasing tender moments like James planting a gentle kiss on Amy’s forehead as they stroll hand in hand, cozy date nights at home, and adventures together, from riding the London Underground to exploring new destinations. It’s the kind of wholesome content that proves some of the best love stories don’t need a TV script.

Their fellow Love Is Blind UK “Pod Squad” members couldn’t contain their excitement in the comments. Bardha Krasniqi, who got engaged to Jed Chouman on the show, called them “the cutest,” while Yolanda Eguavoen dubbed them “adorable.” Katisha Atkinson summed it up perfectly: James and Amy are “ridiculously cute.”

So, how did this under-the-radar romance come to be? Inside the Love Is Blind UK pods, James and Amy felt an instant spark. “When I’d hear his voice, my anxiety would just disappear,” Amy shared in a recent Tudum interview. For James, the connection was just as powerful. “It was our third or fourth date, and as soon as I walked out, I was like, ‘This is why I’m here. She’s The One,’” he recalled. But, as reality TV often goes, their path wasn’t straightforward.

In the pods, both James and Amy formed other connections—James with Holly Kingdon, 30, and Amy with Ross McCarthy, 30—which led to fewer meetings between them. “We just got into situations where it was safe,” James explained, admitting he played it cautious. “In hindsight, I should’ve laid it on a bit thicker with Amy, but I didn’t want to propose and then have her say no.”

While James didn’t propose to Holly, Amy accepted a proposal from Ross. However, that engagement fizzled out shortly after leaving the pods. Undeterred, Amy took a bold step, sliding into James’s Instagram DMs. “We were both very much like, ‘How is it possible to miss somebody you’ve never met?’” she said. Their reunion was nothing short of cinematic: Amy arranged to meet James at the airport after her flight from Spain landed in England. From there, James drove her back to her home in Wales, and the two have been inseparable ever since.

“From that day, I don’t think we’ve had a day apart,” said James, who shares two children from a previous relationship. Their bond grew stronger as they navigated life together, from introducing Amy to his kids a few months later to eventually moving in together in Malta. “We’ve taken each week as it comes, and it’s been great. It’s just been easy,” he added.

While Love Is Blind UK viewers may feel cheated out of seeing this love story unfold on screen, James and Amy’s journey proves that sometimes the real magic happens off-camera. Their story is a reminder that love doesn’t always need a spotlight to shine.
