Olandria Exposes the Truth After Taylor’s ‘Unattractive’ Comment

In a candid revelation, Love Island USA Season 7 star Olandria Carthen is addressing the swirling controversy surrounding her former villa flame, Taylor Williams, and his alleged claim that he wasn’t “physically attracted” to her. The 27-year-old opened up in an exclusive Vanity Fair interview, shedding light on the disconnect between her heartfelt experience in the villa and the narrative that unfolded outside.

“What y’all see and what I experienced were two different things,” Carthen shared, her voice carrying both strength and vulnerability. She painted a picture of Williams as a gentleman whose actions spoke louder than the rumors now circling. “Taylor, he’s a great guy, which was why I was tryna nurture our connection the best way I could. He always cooked me breakfast. If I was cold, he was always taking his jacket off for me. [He was] always leading me up and down the stairs. He was literally a gentleman. When I say I wanted a country man, he truly possessed those values.”

Carthen’s words highlight the warmth and care she felt from Williams during their time together, making the public’s perception of their bond all the more jarring. “It’s just crazy being out in the real world, and seeing how everything’s being perceived,” she admitted. “I’m not going so hard for a person if they’re not pouring back into me too. If I would’ve known originally that a person was not physically attracted to me, I’m not gonna go hard for somebody that doesn’t find me physically attractive.”

Reflecting on what could have been, Carthen noted that she and Williams “could’ve just been friends,” suggesting a missed opportunity for a different kind of connection had the truth been clearer from the start.

Adding to the drama, Season 7 winner Amaya Espinal weighed in, revealing the villa’s collective shock when Williams pivoted to bombshell Clarke Carraway, leaving Carthen behind. “It was shocking to the entire cast,” Espinal said, emphasizing the strength of Carthen and Williams’ day-one connection that had seemed unshakable to those around them.

As Carthen navigates the fallout, her honesty and grace shine through, offering fans a deeper look into the complexities of love, perception, and reality TV. Her story serves as a reminder that what unfolds on screen is only part of the truth—and sometimes, the real narrative is far more nuanced.
