Amorim finds the optimal formula
Without any injury woes, which are always a concern for coaches when players return from international duty, Amorim will have the best players in his arsenal for the match in which he aims to secure back-to-back Premier League victories, something he has not achieved since taking office nearly a year ago.

In goal, there is no reason to change after Senne Lammens’ impressive debut. The 23-year-old had the fans singing “Are you Schmeichel in disguise?” thanks to his zonal control and solid reflexes.
The back three will likely still consist of Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt and Luke Shaw, the trio that helped United keep a clean sheet against Sunderland. Although Luke Shaw has not been in as good form as his two teammates, especially in the defeats to Man City and Brentford, he is still the optimal choice at left-sided centre-back with his balance and experience in tense matches like at Anfield.

Amorim’s midfield is expected to consist of Amad on the right, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in the centre, and Diogo Dalot on the left. Patrick Dorgu replaced Dalot in the second half against Sunderland, but Dalot still offers more attacking and defensive options.
Captain Bruno Fernandes, although not yet fully developed in the deep-lying midfield role that Amorim is using, is still a key factor with his constant movement and all-round influence. This is essential to help MU control the game against Arne Slot’s Liverpool.
Mount to start, Cunha to be on the bench?
Mason Mount is likely to take the starting spot from Matheus Cunha after an impressive performance against Sunderland, where the England star scored and showed his energy and class. The former Chelsea star is slowly regaining his form after a period of constant injury.

Up front, Bryan Mbeumo will continue to play as a starter. Since joining MU for £71 million, the Cameroon striker has quickly made his mark with his speed, power and ability to move intelligently behind the opposition defence.
In the centre-forward position, the 1m95 tall new signing Benjamin Sesko is showing signs of integration after a slow start. The Slovenian striker is aiming for his third consecutive goal against Liverpool, and coach Amorim hopes he will become a spearhead enough to make the Anfield team’s defence struggle to cope. The “Red Brigade” defence is on alert after failing to keep a clean sheet in the last 6 matches in all competitions.
