“Stop The Comparisons!” | Tosin’s BLUNT Verdict On Cole Palmer’s Level Is Must-See Before Chelsea vs Ajax

Chelsea are gearing up for a crucial clash against Ajax on Wednesday, but the absence of their star midfielder Cole Palmer continues to loom large. Head coach Enzo Maresca recently confirmed that Palmer’s recovery from a recurring groin injury has been extended, with the midfielder expected to be sidelined for another six weeks. This means Palmer, who has already missed Chelsea’s last five games across all competitions since his brief 20-minute appearance against Manchester United in September, could be out until late November, potentially missing seven to eight matches in Chelsea’s congested schedule.

Despite the absence of the player Tosin Adarabioyo boldly called Chelsea’s “best player,” the defender remains confident in the team’s ability to cope. Speaking at Tuesday’s press conference, Adarabioyo delivered a blunt and optimistic verdict on the squad’s resilience. “We’re doing well,” he declared. “We’ve obviously missed Cole Palmer, he’s our best player, but again, we’re doing very well.”

Adarabioyo pointed to the team’s adaptability, particularly highlighting Joao Pedro’s performance in the number 10 role typically occupied by Palmer. Pedro stepped into the position in the second half of Chelsea’s recent match against Nottingham Forest, where Maresca’s tactical tweak saw Marc Guiu deployed upfront after the break. Andrey Santos had started in the role during the first half, showcasing the depth Chelsea are relying on to fill the void left by Palmer.

However, Chelsea face a fresh challenge for the Ajax game, as Joao Pedro will be unavailable due to a one-match suspension following a red card against Benfica. Maresca has experimented with several players in the number 10 position to compensate for Palmer’s absence, including Enzo Fernandez, young star Estevao, on-loan midfielder Facundo Buonanotte, and even right-back Malo Gusto. Fernandez, who missed the Nottingham Forest win due to a minor knee injury, could be in line to return for the Ajax clash, offering a potential solution in midfield.

As Chelsea prepare to face Ajax, Adarabioyo’s confidence and the team’s versatility will be put to the test. With Palmer sidelined, the Blues are proving they can adapt, but the question remains whether they can maintain their momentum without their talisman. One thing is clear: Tosin’s no-nonsense take on Palmer’s absence is a rallying cry for the squad to step up and deliver.
