Dead Set runs for five episodes and is a 2008 British zombie horror mini-series that aired on E4, reports OK! When an apocalypse erupts, the cast and crew inside the Big Brother house remain oblivious at first, until it transforms into a fight for survival – with no way out of the Big Brother house.

A synopsis reveals: “During eviction night at the Big Brother house, a zombie outbreak occurs and takes over the United Kingdom. Will the housemates survive?”

Featuring Davina McCall, the original presenter of Big Brother, alongside Jaime Winstone, Charlie Brooker and Andy Nyman, the series can now be watched for free on Tubi.

Crafted by Charlie Brooker, who is recognised for his work on Netflix’s Black Mirror, the series remains a hidden treasure amongst horror enthusiasts. Boasting a near perfect rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has received glowing reviews from viewers.

One fan penned: “How has this not won anything…truly shows how British shows can be if done right.”

A second commented: “Charlie Brooker’s seminal horror serial is an outstanding experience for horror fans and those who are familiar with the UK’s version of Big Brother.”

They continued: “Each episode will have you on the edge of your seat as you anticipate the resolution – one that should be a pleasant surprise once you see the final episode.”

A third added: “Maybe Charlie’s best work in my opinion. Nothing more to say than just such a f*****g good watch, thought provoking, funny, a sad look at pop culture at that current point in time.”

Meanwhile on Google reviews, one viewer gushed: “I loved the idea and the concept. I binged the whole thing in one sitting,” whilst another remarked: “One of the best zombie adaptations ever created.”

Following the release of trailers for the programme on YouTube over the years, one admirer described it as “ahead of its time”, whilst another declared on YouTube: “Gotta hand it to Charlie Brooker: Dead Set was the ONLY zombie movie that gave me actual nightmares.”
