As the Premier League enters a crucial phase before the holiday break, the race in the upper half of the table is tighter than ever. The narrow point gap from second to ninth means top clubs must take every opportunity, and the next five fixtures could shape the entire landscape.
A detailed analysis from European media shows that while Manchester United appears to hold a favourable schedule, Arsenal and Liverpool face huge challenges, promising a turbulent November.

The league leaders Arsenal are facing a real “tourmalet”, where the mettle of a title contender will be pushed to its limits. Their schedule is jam-packed with London derbies full of history and tricky away games. Specifically, their tough run includes:

  • 9 Nov: Sunderland (Away)

  • 23 Nov: Tottenham (Home)

  • 30 Nov: Chelsea (Away)

  • 4 Dec: Brentford (Home)

  • 6 Dec: Aston Villa (Away)

The highlight is sure to be the visit of arch-rivals Tottenham in the first North London derby of the season. On top of that, Mikel Arteta’s side must travel to Stamford Bridge and finish the run with a potentially dangerous trip to Villa Park.

This is clearly the toughest schedule among the top four, and even a few bad results could seriously destabilise their position at the top.

Liverpool are also not spared fate. The challenge facing Arne Slot’s team is evident in their sequence of fixtures:

  • 9 Nov: Manchester City (Away)

  • 22 Nov: Nottingham Forest (Home)

  • 30 Nov: West Ham (Away)

  • 4 Dec: Sunderland (Home)

  • 7 Dec: Leeds United (Away)

Just after ending a damaging run of defeats, the Reds have to step into a “pre-final” with Manchester City at the Etihad. This is a six-pointer, not only affecting the gap between the two teams but also a massive psychological test.

Although the remaining opponents are in the bottom half of the table, they cannot be underestimated—particularly as three of Liverpool’s five upcoming matches are away.

On the contrary, Manchester United seem to have “Lady Luck” smiling on them. This is a golden opportunity for the Red Devils, with their next five fixtures as follows:

  • 8 Nov: Tottenham (Away)

  • 25 Nov: Everton (Home)

  • 30 Nov: Crystal Palace (Away)

  • 5 Dec: West Ham (Home)

  • 9 Dec: Wolves (Away)

The only big challenge for United is the away match at Tottenham. All other games are against mid- or lower-table sides.

This is an excellent chance for Manchester United, who are in good form, to accumulate points, solidify their top-4 place and maybe even dream of a major upset—if their rivals slip.
