The final episode of the hit BBC One show is just days away with Cat and Alan Carr the only Traitors left standing following Jonathon Ross’s shock banishment.

The penultimate episode of the popular TV show aired last week and showed Kate Garraway getting banished at the round table.

Cat had chosen to vote for faithful Kate which led to her exile from the castle.

But, fans think this was a “massive mistake” on Cat’s behalf which could lead to her undoing.

Taking to the internet forum Reddit, some viewers think that leaving herself as the only female in the competition exposes her position as a Traitor, given the likeliness that a female Traitor would have been picked by host Claudia Winkleman at the beginning.

One user revealed: “It seems really silly to me that Cat voted Kate out – purely on the basis that there have been no recruitments, and only one (male) traitor banished, anyone thinking about production would realise that they would have picked at least one female traitor- and she’s now the only female left!”

Another agreed: “I  would say that it’s highly likely, rather than obvious, we have had single gender traitors teams in the past (I believe Claudia even picked up on a male group recruiting another male).

One more added: “This may be what Joe and/or Nick has picked up on, but it has not explicitly come up in any of the discussions that we have seen.

“Not to say that those discussions haven’t been edited out.”

A third said: “Huh, that’s a good point.

“They’ve all been so obsessed with the ‘Big Dogs’ that she might not have been thinking about whether they’d be thinking there would likely be at least one woman as a traitor.”.

A fourth penned: “Cat is also in trouble on the age front – it is likely production would have wanted a young traitor to attract a younger demographic.”

A fifth wrote: “Yeah Cat…….. is kind of screwed now.

“There’s no way the others won’t figure out there has to be at least one female traitor.

“I wonder if it was actually tactical to banish Kate because they were less sure she was a Traitor than Cat, and they knew there had to be at least one woman but potentially two.”

During last week’s episode former rugby union player Joe Marler appeared to be onto something, confiding in fellow Faithful David Olusoga that he thought Alan and Cat may be Traitors – a speculation which is correct.

During a conversation with David in a corridor, Joe whispered: “This will sound really suspicious and I know you being the intelligent man that you are… I’m convinced that it’s Alan and Cat.

“I’m playing a very dangerous game of remaining very close to them because I’m certain that I’m a Faithful and I’m certain that Nick‘s a Faithful.

“You’re a Faithful. Just watch them.”

Joe formulated a cunning plan on screen to get close to the pair he suspects.

He then plans at the last minute to unleash his theory on them in a total blindside.

Speaking to the camera at the end of the episode about his theory, Joe said: “My plan involves getting really close to Alan and Cat so they keep me in the game, and then I can try and pull the rug from under their feet at the last minute.

“Sorry, Traitors, I’m coming for you.”
