Another couple from Married at First Sight UK have called it quits.
Keye Luke and David Ancica, who tied the knot on the popular E4 dating show, have decided to go their separate ways.
Viewers were treated to the pair’s heartfelt final vows earlier this week, with the couple still together during the reunion episodes.
However, Keye has since released a statement confirming his split from Davide and shedding light on the reasons behind their marital breakdown.
In a statement given to The Sun, Keye admitted: “I downloaded Grindr in the early hours of a Sunday morning while Davide was on a flight. I wasn’t there looking to cheat, hook up, or find anyone else.”, reports the Mirror.
He confessed to struggling emotionally at the time, saying: “I was in a really dark place back then, and I turned to something unhealthy because I didn’t know how to cope.”
Keye insisted that his actions weren’t about seeking another partner but rather an attempt to escape his feelings: “It had nothing to do with wanting someone else, it was about trying to numb myself and escape what I was feeling. I know how it looked, and I know it broke trust.”
Despite his intentions not being sexual, he acknowledged crossing a line: “Even if my intentions weren’t sexual, I still crossed a line. I hate that Davide thought I was out there looking for someone else, because that was never what I was doing.”
He expressed regret over his poor decision-making: “I was just lost, and I made a terrible decision. Davide found me with his profile and it cost me my marriage.”
Davide and Keye were considered one of the strongest couples in the experiment, consistently growing stronger throughout their time on the show.
During their emotional final vows, Davide told Keye: “I have never had anyone make me feel as wanted and desired as you do.
“There definitely have been moments where you have been loud. But not because of your way of being, but because of the way you show me your love.”
Reiss Boyce and Leisha Lightbody have also called time on their romance following final vows, with the couple revealing details about their break up during the reunion programme.
Breaking down why things went wrong, Reiss explained: “After the experiment, Leisha came to Essex and there was a comment made where Leisha said ‘a footballer messaged me last night but don’t worry, I put it to bed and let him know I was with someone, so there’s nothing to worry about’.”
He continued: “Then the second day, Leisha said to me ‘if it don’t work with you, it’s okay, I’ll just get with a footballer’.”
Adding: “My head was spinning and then a couple of weeks later we went on a night out and Leisha was talking to a boy and I was talking to a girl and Leisha came charging over and said ‘what are you doing flirting with her?'”.
Reiss then disclosed that he ended things with his spouse and needed several days to consider what lay ahead for them both.
