It’s none other than the live trial, which show bosses have decided to bring back after years off screens.
This year, it’ll be absolutely gruesome, with celeb contestants tucking into a live trial named Cocktails of Cruelty, which is a drinking trial.
It will see each celebrity picking two jungle ingredients for their fellow celeb opponent.
And then on Ant & Dec’s instructions, they have to drink their drinks, with the first celeb to down their drink and get their glass back on the table winning the challenge.
I’m A Celebrity has had some iconic live trial moments over the years.
The last time viewers will have seen a live trial aired was during the 2020 series which was filmed in Wales due to Covid.
The live challenge provided one of the show’s most famous moments in 2010, when TV presenter Gillian McKeith “fainted” after the public voted for her to do her seventh trial.
She fell to the ground near hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, and former Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie stepped in to replace her.
Gillian, 66, had been targeted repeatedly by viewers during her run on the show.
The fainting incident came after the public voted for her to do a trial for the seventh consecutive time.
She lasted 15 days before being axed by the public.
Other celebs in more recent years who have been repeatedly targeted include Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough, who did six trials in a row last year, as did Matt Hancock in 2022.
Whingeing stars’ moans to ITV chiefs have led to a limit on the number of consecutive tasks they must endure on this year’s series.
Bosses acted after stars feared they would be “bullied” by viewers into constantly taking on stomach-churning eating tasks, or dizzying height challenges.
Under the new “two in a row and you miss a go” rules, fans will not be able to vote for a celeb who has already taken on two successive trials.
But viewers can start selecting them again after the following trial vote.
Bosses also acted following complaints that some contestants were hogging the limelight.
