LOST LOVE: Married At First Sight’s Davide breaks his silence after ex Keye revealed he wants to get back together

In a dramatic turn of events from the world of reality TV romance, Married At First Sight star Davide Anica has finally spoken out about his ex-husband Keye Luke’s public confession that he’d be open to rekindling their relationship. The couple, who captured hearts on the E4 show, saw their marriage crumble just months after tying the knot, leaving fans stunned and speculating about a possible reunion. But Davide’s response is clear: the door is firmly shut.

Davide and Keye were matched as one of the standout pairs on Married At First Sight, where strangers are wed by experts in a bold social experiment. Throughout the season, they appeared to build a strong connection, navigating the highs and lows of instant matrimony with charm and chemistry. However, cracks began to show post-show, exacerbated by Davide’s demanding job as a flight attendant, which often took him abroad for extended periods.

The breaking point came when Davide, while overseas, discovered Keye on the dating app Grindr. “I was in a different country at the time, I think he was flying to Atlanta,” Keye later recounted. “So he dumped me over text, because obviously that’s all we had, and then he blocked me on everything. So there was no coming back.” Davide explained that he noticed Keye was unresponsive to his calls and messages but active on social media, prompting him to investigate by creating his own Grindr profile. The revelation shattered their trust, leading Davide to end things abruptly.

Keye has since opened up about the incident, insisting it wasn’t about cheating. “I downloaded Grindr in the early hours of a Sunday morning while Davide was on a flight,” he said. “I was in a dark place, using the app to numb myself and escape my emotions.” He acknowledged crossing a line: “Regardless of intent, I broke Davide’s trust, and it cost me our marriage.” In the aftermath, Keye refused to answer over 100 calls from Davide, went cold, and blocked him on social media. Attempts at reconciliation fizzled out, with a four-page letter from Keye explaining his actions accepted by Davide but ultimately changing nothing.

Fast forward five months, and Keye dropped a bombshell on the Avoiding My Anxiously Attached Boyfriend podcast. He admitted he’d jump at the chance to reunite, joking about the Grindr fiasco: “I was already rinsing through my savings, it’s Grindr, we all know you can get things for free if you’re pretty.” More seriously, he added, “I’m not going to pretend if he didn’t knock on the door and asked for me back now I wouldn’t be going back.” Keye, a 33-year-old marketing manager, reflected on their failed communication efforts, accepting his fault but holding onto lingering feelings.

Davide, however, isn’t entertaining the idea. In an exclusive interview, he broke his silence: “I think our story is done. I think once trust is broken, it cannot be repaired. But again I wish him all the best and I hope honestly he finds peace and someone that would love him for him because he’s a great guy.” He elaborated on the betrayal: “I don’t know if he actually slept with somebody or not. He says that he hasn’t, but after that, for me there was no more trust – I just couldn’t see past it. I’m not saying that he cheated. What I’m saying is he broke my trust. And once you break it like a glass, even if you fix it, it will always leak.”

Now, Davide is focusing on moving forward. Attending The Beauty Awards 2025 alongside co-star Leigh Harris, he revealed he’s dipping his toes back into dating: “I’ve been on dates, but right now I’m keeping my cards close to my heart, slowly slowly.” The split, while painful, seems to have given him closure, with no signs of reconciliation on the horizon.

Fans of Married At First Sight have been left reeling from this saga of lost love, a reminder that even the strongest on-screen bonds can fracture under real-world pressures. As Davide wishes Keye well, it appears this chapter is closed for good, leaving both men to chart new paths in love and life.
