Gogglebox stars Dave and Shirley Griffiths have received an outpouring of support from fans following a heartwarming update about their cherished pet.
The Welsh duo, who joined the popular Channel 4 show way back in 2015, quickly won over audiences with their witty commentary and amusing observations on television from their Caerphilly living room.
Beyond the screen, Dave and Shirley – who recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary – regularly share glimpses of their daily lives with their 212,000 Instagram followers.
The couple recently sparked an wave of encouragement from supporters after posting about their cherished four-legged family member, Rupert.
Devoted dog owners, Dave and Shirley have two French Bulldogs, Rupert and Bleu. Back in July, Rupert required spinal surgery, with the couple revealing he was recuperating following the procedure, reports the Mirror.
Now, months after the operation, Dave and Shirley have shared a fresh update on Rupert, and thankfully the pooch appears to be making excellent progress. The pair posted a delightful photograph on Instagram showing their dogs sporting festive jumpers. The caption read: “All ready for winter walks.”
Supporters of Dave and Shirley filled the comments with warm messages. One fan wrote: “Ah they look so cute, all ready for walkies.” Another said: “Omg they are gorgeous.” A third commented: “Little beauties.”
The couple initially brought Rupert into their home in 2021, sharing the news on X, previously called Twitter: “This soon to be bleu’s new partner in crime, a welcome addition to the Griffiths household #Frenchie #Gogglebox.”
To fans’ delight, Dave and Shirley are back for the latest Gogglebox series, which began earlier this year. Though the line-up has changed somewhat, following July’s announcement that popular personalities Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle wouldn’t be continuing with the show.
Following their exit, Gogglebox has introduced fresh faces to the programme, including Glasgow duo Jake and Calum and the Gordon family hailing from Surrey.
Cotswolds-based married couple Andrew and Alfie have signed up too, as well as Yorkshire’s mother-and-daughter-in-law pairing Sara and Lara have also joined the cast.
