Gogglebox’s Dave and Shirley Griffiths have been supported by fans after the pair issued an update on their beloved dig.
The Welsh couple first joined the long-running Channel 4 programme back in 2015. And it’s fair to say it didn’t take them long to become firm favourites with viewers at home.
Over the years, from their Caerphilly home, Dave and Shirley have had fans in stitches thanks to their hilarious one-liners and thoughts on the latest bits of telly.
Away from the programme, Dave and Shirley – who have been married for 50 years – are not strangers to keeping their 212k Instagram followers updated on their day-to-day life.
Recently, the pair had fans rallying around with support after they shared a post about their beloved four-legged family member, Rupert.
Dog lovers at heart, Dave and Shirley have two beautiful French Bulldogs Rupert and Bleu. In July though, Rupert had to undergo spinal surgery with Dave and Shirley revealing at the time that he was recovering from the operation.
And this week, several months on since his surgery, Dave and Shirley shared another post about their dog Rupert, and it seems the pup is fortunately doing much better.
On Instagram the couple shared an adorable photo of their dogs dressed in sweet festive jumpers. The post was captioned: “All ready for winter walks.”
Dave and Shirley’s fans flooded the comments section with well wishes. One person gushed: “Ah they look so cute, all ready for walkies.” Another added: “Omg they are gorgeous.” A third chimed in: “Little beauties.”
Dave and Shirley first welcomed Rupert into the family back in 2021. They posted on X, then known as Twitter: “This soon to be bleu’s new partner in crime, a welcome addition to the Griffiths household #Frenchie #Gogglebox.”
Much to the delight of fans, Dave and Shirley have returned for the new Gogglebox series – that started earlier this year. However, it is looking a little different, as it was announced in July that beloved stars Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle would not be returning.
In light of Roisin and Joe’s departure, Gogglebox has welcomed new faces to its cast. These include Jake and Calum from Glasgow, the Gordon family from Surrey and married couple Andrew and Alfie from the Cotswolds. Also, mother-and-daughter-in-law team Sara and Lara from Yorkshire made their debut too
