IT’S OFFICIAL! The Warriors’ Master Plan To Pair Stephen Curry With A 63.8% FG Efficiency Monster

The Golden State Warriors sit 8th in the Western Conference at 26-22, still in the playoff hunt despite inconsistency. They suffered a massive blow with Jimmy Butler III out for the season (torn ACL), leaving the offense heavily reliant on Stephen Curry. The biggest weakness: no true elite center – just rotations of Al Horford, Quinten Post, and Trayce Jackson-Davis. If they want to contend, frontcourt help is critical before the Feb. 5 deadline.

The Cleveland Cavaliers (28-20, 5th in East) are a realistic trade partner. While competitive, they could move Jarrett Allen thanks to Evan Mobley’s emergence (capable at both PF and C). This opens the door for Cleveland to gain youth and a future pick while staying in the race.

Proposed Trade

  • Golden State Warriors receive: C Jarrett Allen
  • Cleveland Cavaliers receive: PF Jonathan Kuminga + 2027 first-round pick

Why This Works for Both Teams

Warriors’ Perspective

  • Jarrett Allen is an elite starting center: rim protector, rebounder, perfect pick-and-roll partner for Curry. He fills the glaring hole at the 5 – improving defense, rebounding, and transition play.
  • With Allen starting, Horford/Post/Jackson-Davis become strong bench options.
  • Immediate upgrade – no waiting until summer, boosting playoff chances.

Cavaliers’ Perspective

  • Jonathan Kuminga (23) is a high-upside young forward: athletic, downhill scoring threat, potential #3 scorer alongside Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley.
  • The 2027 first-round pick adds valuable future flexibility for trades or rebuild.
  • Mobley slides to full-time center – increasing usage and fantasy upside, while Cleveland remains competitive in the East.

Fantasy Basketball Impact

  • Jarrett Allen: Becomes the unquestioned starting center in Golden State – near-certain double-double machine, big fantasy value boost.
  • Evan Mobley: No more sharing center duties with Allen → usage spike, jumps into top-tier fantasy big-man upside.
  • Jonathan Kuminga: Gains a bigger role in Cleveland – could evolve from bench scorer to starter, raising his fantasy stock significantly.

Realistic Context Warriors are considering trading Kuminga (unhappy with Kerr, demanding move). Cavaliers – while contending – could accept this package to add youth and a pick without losing core competitiveness.

This is a balanced trade that improves both teams immediately and long-term.
