IT’S OFFICIAL! 4 NBA Powerhouses Ready To Move For LeBron James If He Skips Retirement

If LeBron James does not retire from the NBA this offseason, the future Hall of Famer will receive interest from four teams, sources told Lakers Daily.

The Los Angeles Lakers (his current team), along with the Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, and Cleveland Cavaliers, are all interested in signing James this offseason, sources said.

LeBron James Lakers

For the first time since 2018, James becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

James is making $52.6 million this season. He won’t get that type of money next offseason since he’s the oldest active player in the NBA and turns 42 next season.

Lakers Remain the Favorite The Lakers have made it known, both publicly and privately, that they would love for James to retire with them. If James doesn’t retire this offseason, returning to the Purple and Gold will most likely happen due to the NBA legend’s close relationship with Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves, and JJ Redick, sources said. Bronny James, LeBron’s son, is also on the team.

Three Serious Threats

Golden State Warriors: James is close with Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. Golden State is looking to extend their championship window around Curry and could make a blockbuster move.

Dallas Mavericks: James has strong ties with Anthony Davis (former teammate) and Kyrie Irving. The Mavericks are building a powerhouse around Luka Dončić – adding LeBron would create a terrifying trio.

Cleveland Cavaliers: James’ hometown team (Akron, Ohio). He has played for them twice and guided the franchise to its only NBA championship in 2016 against the 73-9 Warriors. A return to finish his career would be the ultimate “storybook ending.”

LeBron’s Current Situation

He missed the first 14 games this season due to sciatica on his right side.Averaging 22.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game – his lowest scoring average since his rookie season (20.9 PPG in 2003-04).How his body feels after this season will play a major role in his decision. James will have conversations with his family and agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group before deciding.

LeBron has been in the NBA since 2003 – more than 22 years of elite play. Despite a slight dip in scoring, he remains the league’s all-time leading scorer (over 42,000 points).
