Liam Delap’s move from Ipswich Town to Chelsea last summer has not worked out as hoped.
The striker has scored just one goal in 22 Premier League appearances this season and has struggled to secure a regular spot in the Blues’ starting XI.

To compound matters, Chelsea could bolster their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window, with ongoing links to high-profile centre-forwards such as Julian Alvarez and Igor Thiago.
Liam Delap wants move away from Chelsea
It appears Delap has made his decision and does not intend to stay at Stamford Bridge for much longer under the current circumstances.
Journalist Simon Phillips has reported on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the 23-year-old is actively eyeing a departure from the club this summer.
According to Phillips, Delap is concerned about dropping to third-choice striker status at Chelsea, especially as the Blues are poised to sign Emanuel Emegha from sister club Strasbourg.
Among potential destinations, Newcastle United are believed to hold strong interest in Delap.
A switch to St James’ Park could pave the way for a reciprocal move, with Nick Woltemade potentially heading to Stamford Bridge.
Phillips has also noted that Chelsea have Woltemade on their radar and may pursue him should Newcastle make a formal approach for Delap.
The Club World Cup winners are already familiar with Woltemade’s capabilities, having seen him score twice against them earlier this season.
