Speaking to HBO Max, the Brazilian said he wanted a three-year deal, but Chelsea were only willing to offer two.

“I wanted a three-year contract and Chelsea were only offering a two-year deal, so I ended up not renewing my contract.

“During those negotiations, Arsenal started showing interest. Many people say I should never have left Chelsea, family members as well.

Willian made 339 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 63 goals and providing 62 assists. He won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup, and the 2019 Europa League, and was named Chelsea Player of the Year in 2015/16.
