THE DYNASTY SPEAKS: Warriors Star Stephen Curry Sends 8-Word Message to Moses Moody After Surgery

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry offered a heartfelt message of encouragement to teammate Moses Moody following successful surgery to repair a torn left patellar tendon.

Sharing Moody’s recent Instagram post, Curry wrote a simple yet powerful eight-word note: “Going to be back better than ever Mo!”

Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry star sends message to Moses Moody after surgery

The message comes after the Warriors announced that Moody underwent the procedure in Los Angeles. The team confirmed the surgery was successful, but the 23-year-old wing will miss the remainder of the 2025–26 season as he begins rehabilitation.

Moody’s First Message Since the Injury

Earlier on Sunday, Moody broke his silence with his first public statement since the injury occurred on March 23 in Dallas.

“I appreciate all of the love,” Moody posted. “Every challenge I’ve been through in life I’m glad I went through. I’m sure I’ll feel the same about this.” 💪

The young forward is expected to start rehab immediately, with the Warriors planning to provide updates on his progress during next season’s training camp.

Coach Steve Kerr Praises Moody’s Maturity

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke positively about how Moody responded to the diagnosis after his MRI.

“I talked to him today after the MRI. And he’s in pretty good spirits,” Kerr said on 95.7 The Game. “He’s kind of an old soul, Moses.”

Kerr added that despite the disappointment, Moody stayed practical and focused on the next steps.

“As bummed as he is, he’s very practical,” Kerr noted. “He talked about surgery and how this is going to play out… he’s handling it really, really well.”

A Career-Best Season Cut Short

The injury struck during Moody’s most productive NBA campaign to date. In 60 games (49 starts), he averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 40.1% from three-point range. He made 151 threes, becoming just the 14th player in Warriors franchise history to reach that single-season mark.

His strong play included a standout 23-point performance with three rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and three steals in an overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks earlier in March — the same game in which the non-contact injury occurred late in overtime.

Impact on the Warriors and Recovery Outlook

Moody had carved out a significant role as a versatile wing, contributing perimeter defense and floor spacing. His absence adds to the injury challenges the Warriors have faced this season, including time missed by Stephen Curry.

Kerr has indicated that Moody is not expected back early in the 2026–27 season, with a more realistic target around the middle of that campaign. Recovery from a patellar tendon repair typically takes several months, with a gradual, staged return to full basketball activity.

Curry’s supportive message highlights the strong camaraderie within the Warriors locker room as Moody embarks on his rehabilitation journey. Teammates and fans alike have rallied around the young player with messages of support.

Despite the setback, Moody remains a key part of Golden State’s long-term plans. His development may be paused, but the organization is confident he will return stronger and continue contributing to the team’s future.
