THIS ISN’T A JOKE: Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Sends STRONG Message After Achilles Injury

Jaylen Brown has been nothing short of dominant throughout the 2025-26 NBA season, stepping up as the clear leader of the Boston Celtics during Jayson Tatum’s absence while he recovered from an Achilles injury. The 2024 NBA Finals MVP elevated his game on both ends of the floor, delivering one of the most productive campaigns of his career and keeping the Celtics firmly in contention among the Eastern Conference’s elite.

In recent weeks, Brown was on an absolute tear, posting multiple high-scoring outbursts and building a compelling case as an MVP candidate. His hot streak featured five 30+ point games in March alone, helping Boston solidify its position as the No. 2 seed in the East.

That momentum came to a sudden halt, however, when Brown suffered left Achilles tendinitis during a victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The injury forced him to miss the next two games against the Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets, as the Celtics took a cautious approach with their star.

Brown was cleared to return on Monday night and made his comeback against the Hawks. Despite the loss (112–102), he put up a strong stat line: 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. Efficiency was an issue, as he shot just 9-of-29 from the field and turned the ball over six times, but his return itself was a positive sign.

After the game, Brown addressed questions about the Achilles injury and delivered a firm, no-nonsense message, making it clear he isn’t overly worried.

“Nah, everybody’s dealing with something,” Brown told CLNS’ Noa Dalzell. “Just some soreness. Definitely want to make sure you stay healthy as much as possible & you don’t want to risk anything, but it’ll be fine going forward.”

When directly asked if the Achilles issue is a major concern, he doubled down:

“Nah, everybody’s dealing with something — just some soreness. Definitely want to make sure you stay healthy as much as possible & you don’t want to risk anything, but it’ll be fine going forward.”

Through 66 games this season, Brown is averaging 28.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. He remains a cornerstone of Boston’s success, and with Tatum now back in the lineup, the Celtics are confident their star duo can power another deep playoff run and push for an NBA championship.

The Celtics have already hit the 50-win mark and will carefully manage Brown’s workload over the final seven games of the regular season. They return to action Wednesday against the Miami Heat and will wrap up their current road trip against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Boston then plays four of its final five regular-season games at home, with the only road game coming against the New York Knicks. As the playoffs draw near, the team’s top priority is keeping Brown healthy for what they hope will be another title-contending postseason.
