The good news for Boston fans? The Celtics have officially announced that Jayson Tatum is not on the injury report for Wednesday’s matchup. He is fully available and will return to the starting lineup against the Heat.

Noa Dalzell of CelticsBlog confirmed the update: “Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both AVAILABLE to play tomorrow vs Heat. Ron Harper Jr. (ankle sprain) is QUESTIONABLE. Nikola Vucevic remains OUT with his ring finger fracture.”

Tatum’s Strong Return

Tatum has looked sharp since returning to action earlier this month. In 11 games, the nine-year veteran is averaging 20.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest, while shooting 39.9% from the field and 32.3% from three-point range.

Just days ago, on March 30, NBA Communications announced that Tatum (along with Denver’s Nikola Jokić) had been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 23 (March 23-29). His recent form has been a major boost for the Celtics as they push toward the playoffs.

Celtics’ Season Outlook

Despite Tatum missing significant time earlier in the year, Boston has had an excellent 2025-26 season. They currently sit as the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference with a strong 50-25 record through 75 games. Over their last 10 games, the Celtics are 7-3, and they hold a solid 24-14 mark on the road.

After facing Miami on Wednesday, Boston will wrap up this road trip with a Friday matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Heat’s Current Standing

The Miami Heat enter the game as the No. 9 seed in the East with a 40-36 record through 76 games. They have gone just 3-7 in their last 10 contests but remain respectable at home (24-14). Following the Celtics, Miami will host the Washington Wizards on Saturday.

Recent History Between the Teams

Last season, the Celtics were eliminated by the New York Knicks in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs, while the Heat were swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round.

With Tatum back and both teams fighting for positioning in the final stretch of the regular season, Wednesday night’s matchup in Miami promises to be an intense Eastern Conference battle. Celtics fans will be eager to see their star forward back on the floor and contributing to what has been a resilient season for Boston.
