OFFICIAL: NBA REVIEWING INCIDENT after Durant caught cursing at Lakers fan – The viral video COULD LEAD TO A FINE

Kevin Durant still had a moment on Saturday despite being in street clothes.

The Houston Rockets opened up their first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif. But it was the Lakers who ended up earning the 107-98 victory to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Durant, who was out for the game due to a knee injury, was seen in a viral video before the opening tip having words for a Lakers fan. The Lakers fan could be heard yelling something to Durant about LeBron James, and Durant fired back with a profane response.

“Get that grown man d–k out your mouth,” said Durant while pointing towards the stands.

The Exchange: A Moment of Pure Durant

The video quickly circulated on social media, drawing reactions from fans and analysts alike. Some praised Durant for standing up for himself. Others criticized him for engaging with a fan. Most simply enjoyed the unfiltered moment from a player who rarely holds back when provoked.

Durant has always had a chip on his shoulder. He has never been afraid to clap back at critics, whether they are on the court or in the stands. This was no different.

Even in street clothes, even without playing, Durant made his presence felt.

Durant’s Injury: A Knee Contusion

The former MVP Durant, 37, was out for Game 1 due to a knee contusion suffered in practice earlier in the week. Rockets head coach Ime Udoka also made some concerning comments about Durant’s injury in its aftermath.

Durant’s status for the remainder of the series against the Lakers remains unclear at this point. But an Angeleno still managed to get a taste on Saturday of the trash talk that Durant usually saves for the likes of Dillon Brooks.

The Rockets struggled mightily without their superstar. They shot 37.6 percent from the field. They went 68 percent from the foul line. They looked lost on offense, unable to create good looks or generate momentum.

Durant’s absence was felt in every facet of the game.

The Game: Lakers Take Control

Luke Kennard led the Lakers with 27 points on 5-of-5 shooting from three-point range. LeBron James added 22 points and 8 assists. The Lakers shot 52.6 percent from beyond the arc, a number that proved insurmountable for a Rockets team that could not find its rhythm.

Jalen Green scored 24 points for Houston, but he needed 22 shots to get there. Alperen Sengun added 18 points and 12 rebounds, but he was the only reliable offensive option.

The Rockets missed Durant. They missed his scoring. They missed his gravity. They missed his presence.

What’s Next: Game 2 on Tuesday

The Rockets are hopeful that Durant can return for Game 2 on Tuesday night. He will have had six days of rest by then. The injury is a matter of mobility, not pain tolerance. If he can move, he will play.

But even a hobbled Durant is better than no Durant at all.

The Lakers know this. They know the series changes if Durant is on the floor. They are preparing for his return.

The Verdict: A Different Series Ahead

The Rockets lost Game 1. They looked bad. They shot poorly. They had no answer for the Lakers’ role players.

But they did not have Kevin Durant.

That changes everything.

If Durant returns and looks like himself, the Rockets have a chance to steal home-court advantage. If he is limited, the Lakers will feel confident they can repeat their Game 1 performance.

One thing is certain: Durant’s trash talk was a reminder that he is never far from the action. Even in street clothes, even on the sideline, he is a competitor.

And he will be back.

The question is whether he will be back in time to save the Rockets’ season.

Game 2 is Tuesday. The basketball world will be watching. And Kevin Durant will be ready to prove that he is still the same player who has tormented defenses for nearly two decades.
