Dublin-born Love Island star Megan Forte Clarke, 24, is “raging” after discovering how producers edited her final episodes, painting her in an unflattering light following her shock exit from the villa. The theatre performer, who was dramatically dumped from the ITV2 show last week after being voted the least popular female by the public, spoke to MailOnline about her heartbreak and frustration over the manipulated narrative that left her looking like the villain.

Megan, who was initially coupled up with Tommy Bradley, 22, during the show’s launch, appeared to have a strong connection with the charming Islander. The pair were early favorites, with fans predicting they could be finalists or even winners of the series. However, their bond unraveled when Megan pursued a new connection with rugby player Conor Phillips, leading to a controversial terrace kiss and an intimate night in the Hideaway. Meanwhile, Tommy was shown breaking down in tears to his co-stars, a scene that sparked outrage among viewers who branded Megan a “bully” and voted her out in droves.

“Seeing Tommy cry and then it cutting to me and Conor kissing on the terrace – I get why people are raging. I was raging too!” Megan told MailOnline. “But it didn’t happen like that in real life. It broke my heart to see him upset. That was the last thing I wanted.”
Megan insists the show’s editing distorted the timeline of events, making her actions appear more callous than they were. She admits to clashing with Tommy over trust issues and villa rumors, which strained their relationship. “He’s so levelheaded, but I let my anger get the best of me,” she confessed. “I didn’t like seeing him upset at all – he’s an absolute angel. The fact that he felt comfortable opening up to the boys shows how strong their friendship is.”

Reflecting on her time in the villa, Megan regrets how she handled arguments with Tommy, wishing she had stayed calmer to preserve their connection. “I could’ve handled myself better with Tommy,” she said. “I was in an angry headspace, and with all the ‘he said, she said’ in the villa, it’s easy to get wound up. Unfortunately, Tommy got the brunt of it. I just needed to take a deep breath.”
Despite the backlash, Megan stands by her decision to explore her feelings for Conor, saying it would’ve always been a “what if” had she not acted on it. However, she revealed that her connection with Conor had been developing for weeks, a detail omitted from the final edit. “Me and Conor had been speaking since day one – it just wasn’t shown,” she explained. “When he was getting to know Emily and Toni, it fizzled out, but when he picked it back up, I was shocked, but it was the right time to explore it.”

The public’s perception of Megan’s actions led to her being compared to former Islander Maura Higgins, known for her bold personality. But the harsh criticism and her sudden exit left Megan reeling. “It’s weird territory in the villa,” she said. “We’re told to be open, but jealousy creeps in. Everything happens for a reason, though.”
Now out of the villa, Megan is keeping a close eye on Conor, who was visibly emotional when she left. “Conor was really upset when I left, and I didn’t want him to make a rash decision out of emotion,” she said. “We only had a couple of days properly together, but I think there’s something between us. I’ll be watching to see how he behaves – if someone new comes in, fair enough, but for now, I’m hopeful.”

The arrival of new bombshells, including Dublin-based content creator Billykiss, who invited Conor on a date in Tuesday’s episode, has Megan on edge. “I’m like, ‘Conor, please stay away, don’t forget me!’” she laughed, admitting the FOMO is real. “I’ll watch the show, but not for too long because I want to be back in there. I need to see how the girls and boys are getting on.”

Despite the drama, Megan says she’d jump at the chance to return to Mallorca for a second shot at love. For now, she’s left grappling with the fallout of her portrayal and the heartbreak of seeing Tommy’s tears, feeling the sting of a narrative that wasn’t entirely her own. “It’s not good that Tommy was so upset,” she said. “But the editing made it look worse than it was. I’m devastated it played out this way.”
