The Yankees ended a 30-inning scoreless streak in the contest, but Volpe struggled at the plate, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his final at-bat. The third-year veteran is now 0-for-15 over his last four games, with a season slash line of .235/.307/.419, eight home runs, and 39 RBI in 72 games.
