Kai Fagan & Sanam Harrinanan Snub Love Island Cast – Only ONE Co-Star Made Their Wedding Cut!

In a bold move that’s got fans buzzing, Love Island champions Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan have spilled the tea on why their star-studded wedding guest list featured just one fellow Islander. The adored couple, both 27, sealed their fairy-tale romance with a breathtaking £39K ceremony in Essex last week, but when it came to inviting their reality TV cohorts, they kept it shockingly exclusive.

Fresh off their “I do’s,” Kai and Sanam opened up to the Mirror about their intimate affair, revealing that only Ron Hall from the show scored an invite. “We just don’t have friends from the show like that,” Kai confessed candidly. “That’s just how life goes.” Sanam chimed in, emphasizing the magic of their tight-knit circle: “We only had 60 guests. Looking around, we realized every single person there had a genuine, close relationship with us. That never happens in real life – everyone in the same room, at the same time.”

The emotional high point? The heartfelt speeches that left Kai floored. “You never realize how much people care until they stand up and say it out loud,” he shared. “It really hit me how much love was in that room.” Pictured beaming alongside Ron during the Love Island finale, it’s clear why he made the cut – but the rest of the cast? Not so much.

Last Saturday, the newlyweds took to Instagram to share jaw-dropping snaps from their picture-perfect day, officially confirming their status as Mr. and Mrs. Fagan. The romantic countryside vows unfolded at the luxurious High House in Essex, where ceremonies can range from £10,995 to a lavish £38,995. Sanam was a vision in an off-the-shoulder gown from Lotte Rose Bridal in Bedford, boasting a floral lace bodice and flowing tulle skirt. Clutching a bouquet of pink roses and purple blooms, she glided down the aisle like a dream.

Kai matched her elegance in a sleek black Moss suit, complete with a bow tie and crisp white shirt. The lovebirds couldn’t keep their hands off each other, with Kai playfully twirling Sanam in the gardens amid a shower of confetti from their nearest and dearest. Ahead of the big moment, Sanam shared a fun TikTok with her four bridesmaids, all stunning in matching floor-length purple dresses.

The celebrations didn’t stop there – the couple hosted a vibrant Indian reception, honoring Sanam’s heritage. She slipped into a dazzling white ensemble accessorized with chandelier earrings and stacked bracelets, while they hit the dancefloor with infectious joy. “Mr and Mrs Fagan forever and always 01/08/2025,” they captioned their post, alongside a video snippet of the “most magical day.”

No wedding is complete without a showstopping cake, and theirs was a two-tier buttercream masterpiece adorned with white and lilac flowers. Baked by Sanam’s Casa Amor buddy Cynthia Taiwo, the pro baker gushed on Instagram: “Thank you for trusting me to make this cake for you on such a special day. Myself and Sanam walked into the Love Island villa together, so this was a full circle moment for me. Cheers to Mr and Mrs Fagan.”

Fans were quick to praise the cultural fusion, with one commenting on how they “love how the couple incorporated her ethnicity into the wedding with the Indian style.” Sanam replied graciously: “Thank you. Waiting for the rest of the photos to come through but you’ll see it soon.”

While the Love Island crew was largely absent, congrats poured in from co-stars like Claudia Fogarty (“Congratulations to you both, you look beautiful xxx”), Ron Hall (“A special couple and a special love”), Lana Jenkins (“Beautiful photos guys, congratulations”), Lucie Donlan (“Wow, congratulations guys”), Wes Nelson (“Congratulations”), and Casey O’Gorman (“Winners for a reason congrats guys”).

The venue itself was a slice of paradise: Couples can exchange vows in the Grade II listed Essex Barn, feast in the new orangery, mingle in lush gardens with a serene water feature, and wander through vineyard entrances. Guests even unwind in renovated onsite digs complete with a pool.

Leading up to the nuptials, Sanam took the reins on planning, as Kai admitted to The Sun: “She’s taking a bit of control of this because I never had a dream wedding. A lot of young girls have a dream wedding and know exactly what they want. And that’s going to be her special day at the end of the day. So it’s got to be perfect for her. But I’d marry her anywhere – I’d go to the registry office in Manchester tomorrow.”

The pre-wedding buzz was electric. Sanam jetted to Ibiza for a sun-soaked hen party with pals and her mom, while Kai’s stag do was a sporty, boozy blast with the boys. In a sweet gesture, Kai inked Sanam’s name on his arm as a tribute to his bride-to-be.

The duo, who triumphed on Love Island in 2023 after meeting in Casa Amor, announced their engagement in April 2024 with a dreamy boat proposal in Cambridge. Sanam stunned in bridal white, and they toasted with champagne amid passionate kisses.

What sets their bond apart from other villa romances? In a chat with OK! magazine, they dished on prioritizing love over fame. “The difference between Love Island couples and ordinary couples is that there is a lot of pressure on the relationship when you leave the villa,” Kai explained. “What makes Sanam and I different is that you have to decide what you want more: the fame that comes with the show, or the person you’re in a relationship with. You get invited to parties but we wanted each other more than that lifestyle. We enjoy every moment together and we do things the other person is interested in, too.”

Humble to the core, Sanam returned to social work post-show, shunning the influencer path, while Kai resumed his role as a P.E. teacher. Their story proves that true love doesn’t need a red carpet – just genuine connections and a killer wedding cake. Congratulations to the Fagans!
