Adam Collard Breaks Down in Tears on Celeb SAS: Revealing the Heartbreaking Truth About Laura Woods and Their Unborn Child’s Death

In a raw and emotional moment on the August 17 episode of Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, Love Island star Adam Collard bared his soul, shedding tears as he opened up about the devastating miscarriage his fiancée, sports presenter Laura Woods, suffered. The couple, who began dating in October 2023, faced the heartbreaking loss of their unborn child at 11 weeks, a tragedy that left Adam grappling with grief and depression.

The grueling Celeb SAS course pushed Adam to his physical, mental, and emotional limits, and during a poignant moment, he reflected on the profound impact of the loss. “It’s been one of the toughest challenges,” the 29-year-old reality star admitted, his voice heavy with emotion. “I had a hard couple of months before the course. I didn’t really feel myself at all. I was very down, very low. I couldn’t describe it, but I got told it was depression.”

Adam, known for his confident persona on Love Island in 2018 and 2022, confessed that he once struggled to understand mental health issues. “I’ve always been someone who thought I didn’t really understand that,” he said. “I kind of disregarded it when I was younger, but then it hit me.” The miscarriage, a loss all too common yet deeply personal, shook him to his core. “We lost something when it was really close to getting to the exciting time,” he shared. “I was proud to be excited for it, which I didn’t think I ever would be. But when it got taken away, it was 10 times worse for Laura, and I was in a bad place.”

Despite his pain, Adam revealed he put on a brave face for Laura. “In front of her, I pretended I was cool, like I was absolutely fine,” he said, highlighting the silent burden he carried. The Celeb SAS course, however, became a turning point, teaching him the value of vulnerability. “Trust others more, talk to others, open up to them,” he reflected. “I wish I knew that a month or two ago because it would have seriously helped.” The experience nearly kept him from joining the show altogether, as he admitted, “I nearly didn’t even come and do the course at all.”

Adam and Laura’s love story, which blossomed after his 2022 return to Love Island in search of “the one,” has been a beacon of hope amid their heartbreak. The couple announced their engagement and the birth of their son, Leo, in January 2025, a joyful milestone that followed their loss. Sharing the news on Instagram, Laura posted heartwarming photos of their newborn, marking a new chapter for the couple.

Adam’s candid revelations on Celeb SAS have resonated with viewers, shedding light on the often-unspoken pain of miscarriage and the importance of mental health awareness. His journey from denial to openness underscores the strength it takes to confront grief—and the healing power of sharing one’s truth.
