TV star Ross King has become the second contestant to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing. The Scots presenter and his professional dancing partner Jowita Przystal left the BBC competition following a tense dance-off against EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon during Sunday night’s (October 12) results show.

The Scots TV star took to the dance floor on Saturday evening during the show’s Movie Week dancing the Paso Doble to the theme tune from the Thunderbirds, wearing the signature blue International Rescue uniform. The Lorraine star looked worlds away from his usual self with striking jet black hair and dramatic bushy eyebrows.
Despite his efforts with the realistic outfit, his performance did not win over the judges, earning the lowest score of the evening as the judges granted him 19 points overall. Although judge Anton Du Beke did praise King for being the “most improved” contestant.
However this was not enough, as he found himself in the bottom two with Balvinder as both couples had to perform their routine again for the judges.
Anton, Motsi and Craig all chose to save Balvinder and Julian, resulting in King and Jowita being sent home.
King became tearful as he spoke following his exit. He thanked everyone for their support and had nothing but praise for his professional partner Jowita, saying she had been his “absolutely everything” throughout the competition.

After the show wrapped up, King took to social media to share his heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming support he received throughout the competition.
Posting a series of photos on Instagram, he wrote: “There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for this amazing opportunity.”
He went on to say: “Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me – the Strictly cast and crew, friends, family, my wonderful dance partner Jowita, and most importantly, to the fans. You kept me inspired with your kind words and kept me in the competition with your votes. I hope like me, you’ve been inspired to try something new and as always, keep dancing!”
It wasn’t long before his Strictly co-stars flooded the comments with love and support. TV personality Vicky Pattison wrote: “Love you so much @therossking. I’m going to miss you so much too.”
While former rugby star Chris Robshaw also shared a touching message, commenting: “Ross you are an amazing man and you shall be missed. I loved our Calcutta Cup battles on the dance floor and dressing gown coffees.”
As West End star Amber Davies added her own warm message, writing: “You’re one of a kind.”
Meanwhile, Strictly host Tess Daly added her own touching words, expressing just how much King would be missed behind the scenes. She penned: “Adored by the entire team you will be SO MISSED Ross.”
