Comedian Lucy Beamount said first: “You know what you do in a well, don’t you?”

The others were confused, but Celia said: “Put the pussy in.”

Her words – relating to an old nursery rhyme – saw the others speechless, barely holding back laughter.

“Oh come on, we were all thinking it,” insisted Celia as the others admitted they hadn’t a clue.

The celebs appeared not to be acquainted with the old fashioned rhyme, which has the lyrics “Ding Dong Bell, Pussy’s in the well”.

It’s not the first time she’s had her co-stars in fits, however.

As well as regularly swearing, the 73-year-old actress stole the show on Wednesday night when she passed wind at the start of another task.

As the rasp was heard and Celia chuckled, host Claudia Winkleman said: “What just happened?”

Prompting howls of laughter from fellow celebrities, Celia replied: “I just farted, Claudia. It’s nerves, but I always own up.”

Fellow contestant Kate Garraway later said on Good Morning Britain: “It was so loud!

“How could somebody so elegant, so petite, so gracious, let off that huge sound?”

Alan Carr continued to tease her about it on last night’s show as he played badminton in front of Ardross Castle.

Whacking a shuttlecock in the air he said: “Celia, we need a bit of wind to get it over the net.”

Laughing, she replied: “Oh shut up!”
