Married at First Sight UK aired the final commitment ceremony of the current season tonight, with two of the couples deciding not to carry on with the process. Following a bombshell revelation in a previous episode, the exit didn’t surprise fans, but they were still very glad it happened. 

During the homestays, Nelly learned that Steven had been active on a dating app despite being coupled up with her in the process.

At the commitment ceremony, Nelly said she “downplayed” how she had been feeling and was annoyed that Steven made a cooked breakfast in bed for April in the partner swap when she never had that experience.

He admitted that things switched to friendship in his mind during partner swap, stating: “I like the girl, but I can’t see something progress romantically.”

That’s when she brought up the dating app bombshell to the group, showing printed out screenshots of the profile to her peers and the experts.

He continued to deny it, saying that he didn’t even know what verification meant. Everyone explained to him that it means he would have had to taken a video of him talking within the app to prove it was him in the photos.

Nelly decided that it was best for her to leave, saying she was disappointed with how things have turned out but had learned from the process to be more assertive. Steven also decided to leave.

Fans were thrilled that Nelly had stood up for herself and in such a dramatic way, while others couldn’t believe Steven insisted he wasn’t on the app all the way to the end.

Elsewhere in the episode, Leo and April also decided to call it quits. Leo stated that he received no “affirmations” from his partner, which April denied, claiming he had been putting on a “facade”
