Jonathan Ross has spoken out about his feud with Celebrity Traitors co-star Ruth Codd as the pair appeared to fall out on the BBC show.

Ruth ‘lashed out’ and called Jonathan a ‘f***ing snake’ after being murdered during a behind-the-scenes meltdown, Daily Mail revealed.

Sources on the show revealed that the Irish actress, 29, was ‘furious’ after being eliminated early in the series and took out her anger on presenter Jonathan, whom she correctly guessed was a Traitor before he took his revenge.

An insider explained that Ruth was genuinely ‘angry’ and described it as a ‘f***ing joke’ that she had been cast out in the early stages of the competition.

Meanwhile, Jonathan was finally banished by the rest of the cast at last week’s roundtable.

Speaking on his podcast Reel Talk, Jonathan said that there was no ‘beef’ between him and Ruth.

He continued: ‘I don’t think there was anyone there I didn’t like.

‘Obviously, some people leave earlier than other people so you don’t get to spend as long with them. So you know, the younger people who went out earlier, I didn’t get to spend as much time with Niko [Omilana] or Ruth.

‘I’ve spoken to them both since and all our lives are different but I think certainly we were friendly when we met so there’s no beef there. But I’d like to think that we could become friends.’

Jonathan said he also knew some of the stars – including Charlotte Church.  Stephen Fry and Alan Car – before Celebrity Traitors.

He continued: ‘Mark Bonnar I hadn’t met before and we got on very well, we’ve been in touch.

‘Tameka I’ve become very friendly with. I’ve spoken to Tameka quite a lot – sometimes in the group chat. I invited her to go to something with me. One thing she couldn’t come to and the other thing, she was going to come but I had to cancel it because I couldn’t go to it.’

On his fellow Traitor Cat Burns, Alan said: ‘Cat I knew a little tiny bit and we’ve become friends. Actually, I got an email from her just before starting this.

‘Cat I really like. Generally speaking, I’m fairly open to meeting new friends. I’m not saying these are becoming super close friends but I’m not someone who finds it easy to become close with people really quickly.’

It comes after A TV insider revealed to Daily Mail: ‘Ruth was furious after she was murdered during the early stages of filming.

‘She called Jonathan a “f***ing snake” and really let go of her anger behind the scenes.

‘There was definitely frustration from Ruth that her co-stars weren’t listening to her after she correctly identified Jonathan as a Traitor.

‘Ruth felt that not many of the celebrities were following their own instincts and minds, which meant the game wasn’t always played properly.

‘It was a shame for her to be murdered so early in the competition when she had a lot more to give.’

While the series has so far been airing two evenings a week on BBC One, fans won’t have to wait for the big reveal – as it’ll take place in one long episode.

Instead of hitting screens on Wednesdays, Celebrity Traitors will air just ONCE on Thursday night, at 9pm, in an extra-long finale episode.

Instead of running for 60 minutes, the final instalment of the spin-off series, which has only featured famous faces, fans will get an extra 10 minutes of action.

Immediately after, viewers can also tune into after-show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, which airs on BBC Two at 10:10pm.

It will see Ed Gamble joined by the remaining celebrities to dissect the action of the final episode, which will see the prize money up for grabs.
