Secret Lives of Mormon Wives personality Chase McWhorter has broken his silence on his July arrest for DUI and cocaine possession.
McWhorter was charged with three misdemeanors: driving under the influence, driving on a suspended or revoked license, and possession of a controlled substance after the alleged July 4 incident, per court records obtained by Us Weekly.
On Thursday the 30-year-old dad, who shares two young kids with ex-wife Miranda McWhorter, posted a TikTok video taking responsibility for his actions.
McWhorter began the recording, ‘Time to address the elephant in the room. And I don’t have a PR person, so we’re just gonna raw dog this s**t. The reports you saw yesterday that came out about what happened on July 4 with me are true.
‘I was pulled over for driving under the influence, had ingested substances that I shouldn’t have, and got behind the wheel of a car. Extremely shortsighted, selfish, and dangerous decision. And shout-out to the cop for helping people stay safe on the road, because it could have ended much worse than it did.’
He added that he’d planned to be at a friend’s pool party the entire day, but decided to leave after a fight broke out.

McWhorter has appeared on the last two seasons of the hit Hulu series starring a group of Mormon moms in Utah
‘I should have Ubered, but for some reason, decided to drive home, and that decision alone kills people every single day,’ he stressed. ‘I understand the severity of it. Obviously, it was a humiliating low being pulled over and taken in. Terrible look for me.’
McWhorter emphasized that his bad judgment was not a reflection on anyone in his life, namely his parents, ‘who have raised me much better than that.’
‘It’s not a reflection of people around me, who know how stupid that is and how selfish it was,’ he added.
He also informed his 200,000 followers that he told Miranda, with whom he shares daughter Brooks, six, and son Cohen, four, the day after his arrest.
She appeared in the comments to add levity to the situation, joking, ‘I just know you were punching the air when they read you your “Miranda Rights.”’
Others from McWhorter’s social circle and from the Hulu series also added supportive comments.
Layla Taylor, who is dating his brother Mason, wrote, ‘Okay ownership!!! now don’t do it again,’ to which he replied, ‘Promise.’
And Zac Affleck, whose wife Jennifer is part of the famed MomTok group, teased, ‘Okay we love the accountability but can we at least get a mugshot? Jk! But seriously glad you learned from this and way to own it.’
In good humor, McWhorter responded, ‘Was robbed of a mugshot tbh. Thx dawg.’

Miranda (L) and Taylor Frankie Paul (R) were involved in a ‘soft swinging’ scandal that rocked their Utah social circle and led to their hit Hulu reality series
Miranda and MomTok leader Taylor Frankie Paul were involved in a ‘soft swinging’ scandal that rocked their Utah social circle and led to their hit Hulu reality series.
Their sex parties led to an affair between Frankie Paul and McWhorter while he was married to Miranda and she was wed to Tate Paul. Both couples later divorced.
A police report reviewed by The Sun revealed that on July 4 Utah police ‘observed a vehicle driven by a male, later identified as [Chase], who was unable to maintain his speed and drifted outside of the travel lane several times, almost hitting a curb.’
When McWhorter was pulled over, police ‘detected the odor of alcohol and observed he had bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech’ and ‘showed signs of impairment while performing the field sobriety tests.’
After searching his Tesla, ‘powder substance that field tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl’ was discovered.
The report also states that the father-of-two ‘admitted to drinking at a bar and using cocaine before driving.’
The outlet reported that McWhorter did not show up to his first court hearing, leading to a warrant for his arrest and a $2,500 bail. The warrant was withdrawn on November 18 after the TV star pleaded not guilty on November 5.
Despite admitting his guilt in the TikTok video, McWhorter’s lawyer told The Sun: ‘My client is presumed to be innocent and I intend to represent him to the best of my ability.’
