IT’S OFFICIAL! Kevin Durant Makes History In San Antonio, Entering The NBA’s Top 10 All-Time Scoring List

HOUSTON – Kevin Durant continues to prove age is just a number at 37. In the Houston Rockets’ matchup against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night (Jan. 28, 2026), Durant drained a three-pointer in the first quarter – pushing his career total to 2,291 made threes and moving him past Vince Carter into 10th place on the NBA’s all-time list.

Notably, Durant reached the mark in nearly 400 fewer games than Carter – a testament to his remarkable long-range efficiency throughout his 19-year career.

The Rockets – currently fourth in the Western Conference at 28-16 (just two games behind the Spurs) – entered the game as favorites. They led 62-54 at halftime. Durant had 13 points in the first half and added another three early in the third quarter to help extend the lead to double digits.

Durant’s Scoring Dominance This Season Durant is averaging over 26 points per game, remaining one of the league’s premier scorers. His presence has been the primary reason the Rockets have exceeded expectations, even as many still view the roster as “one piece away” from truly contending with the Oklahoma City Thunder atop the West.

Houston’s current core is deep and youthful:

Alperen Şengün – emerging as a rising starAmen Thompson – third-year forward taking a massive leapReed Sheppard – continuing to shine off the bench

However, rumors persist that the Rockets are among the teams interested in trading for Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks. If that blockbuster were to materialize, a Giannis-Durant duo would instantly become one of the most formidable tandems in NBA history.

Rockets Nation – what do you think?

Durant at 37 is still a scoring monster – can he carry Houston to the Finals?Or does the team need another superstar like Giannis to truly compete for a title?
