Stephen Curry just got his BODYGUARD. 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.2 blocks – the EX-Celtic fan favorite is COMING to the Bay. The NBA is OFFICIALLY on WATCH.

The Golden State Warriors’ free agency options may lack the star power of their trade possibilities, but the Dubs can still land valuable contributors capable of delivering meaningful minutes in the 2026-27 season. While the front office will thoroughly explore the trade market, one intriguing free-agent target stands out for his defensive impact and proven production when healthy.

Blue Man Hoop’s Peter O’Keefe believes former Boston Celtics fan-favorite center Robert Williams III could be a perfect fit for Golden State.

“Robert Williams III might be a perfect free agency target for the Warriors,” O’Keefe wrote.

In the recently concluded playoff series with Portland, Williams delivered strong performances off the bench. After averaging 9.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks through the first four games, he added 11 points, seven rebounds, an assist, and a block in 17 minutes during the series finale—a 114-95 defeat. Though his 5-of-10 shooting was less efficient than the over 70% mark he posted earlier in the series, the showing reinforced his value as a high-energy, two-way presence.

Celtics fans quickly embraced Williams early in his career. Listed at 6-foot-9, he was undersized for the center position but made up for it with explosive athleticism, elite rim protection, and relentless energy on both ends of the floor. His best season came in 2021-22, when he posted 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game for a Boston team that advanced to the NBA Finals.

Injuries have disrupted his trajectory since then, but when available, Williams remains a serviceable two-way weapon with the mobility and instincts to protect the rim and finish around it at a high level.

For the Warriors, Williams represents a low-risk, high-reward addition—especially if Kristaps Porzingis departs the Bay Area. His elite shot-blocking instincts and vertical athleticism could provide Stephen Curry with exactly the kind of interior protector and lob threat the backcourt maestro has long thrived alongside.

The NBA is officially on watch. While the Dubs may not make Williams their top priority this offseason, dismissing the idea outright would overlook a player whose skill set aligns well with Golden State’s motion offense and switch-heavy defensive schemes. If he can stay healthy, “Time Lord” could become the bodyguard Curry’s supporting cast has been missing.
