Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta has been a refreshing revival, largely thanks to the return of fan-favorite Phaedra Parks, alongside Porsha Williams and Cynthia Bailey, who rejoined in a friend role. The season also saw Shamea Morton step into the spotlight, finally claiming her peach. Phaedra, a mortician, lawyer, and proud mom, is committed to RHOA for the “long haul.” Speaking to OK!, she didn’t hold back about what the show had lost before her return. “I’m introducing what I think the series lost: fun, fabulousness, and just authentically enjoying yourself in life,” she said. “My fortress is growing. I have several jobs, and I continue to expand my little empire.” With her sharp wit and vibrant energy, Phaedra is determined to breathe new life into the franchise.
The reunion of Phaedra and Porsha, affectionately dubbed “frick and frack,” has been a highlight of the season. “Frick and frack is back. It’s Phaedra 2.0,” she shared. Free from the drama of her past marriage, Phaedra is embracing her new chapter with a “young, sparky, and cute” boyfriend. Her sons, Ayden and Dylan, are also growing up fast, bringing their own flair to the show. “My kids are at an age where they speak their minds, which I don’t know if I enjoy that,” she quipped.
Phaedra teased an exciting storyline for her pre-teen son, Dylan, who is launching his own clothing line this season. “They’re little entrepreneurs,” she proudly stated. “You’ll not only see me continuing to work my many jobs, but you’ll see my youngest son launch his clothing line.” This glimpse into her family’s ambition adds a fresh dynamic to her storyline.
However, not all is smooth in Atlanta. Former castmate Kenya Moore threw shade at Phaedra amid reports that Episode 12’s ratings hit a series low. Kenya, who quit during filming after her suspension for allegedly showing explicit photos of co-star Brit Eady, took a jab at the show’s struggles. But Phaedra remains unbothered, focusing on bringing her authentic self to the screen and proving she’s the spark RHOA desperately needs.
With Phaedra Parks back in the mix, Season 16 is reclaiming its place as must-watch TV. Her blend of humor, hustle, and heart is exactly what the show needed to rise from the ashes.
