Drama has erupted in the Big Brother house as housemate Caroline Monk, a 56-year-old PR executive, found herself at the center of a firestorm after making transphobic remarks toward co-star Zelah Glasson during a heated game of spin the bottle. The shocking incident, which saw Caroline misgender Zelah, led to a swift and stern formal warning from Big Brother, with the threat of eviction looming if she steps out of line again.

The controversy unfolded when Caroline, in what she later claimed was an attempt to stir trouble between housemates Nancy and Cameron, deliberately misgendered Zelah. The comment cut deep, leaving Zelah hurt and prompting an emotional confrontation that has gripped viewers. In a teaser released by Big Brother, Caroline is seen grappling with the fallout, offering a heartfelt apology to Zelah in a bid to salvage their friendship.
“All I wanted to do was make trouble—not for you, but for Nancy and Cameron,” Caroline confessed in the clip, her voice heavy with regret. “The whole thing was just so she’d have to say ‘him.’ Why did it come out of my mouth? I’ve got no excuse.”
Zelah, visibly affected, responded with raw honesty, explaining the pain caused by Caroline’s words. “What really hit me was the sectioning me away from the guys, with the whole reproductive thing,” he said. “All that was tough, and then it was like, ‘She’s a girl’… it hurt.” Despite the sting, Zelah showed grace, acknowledging that Caroline “comes from a good place” and describing the incident as a “moment.” He added, “It shocked me because I haven’t been in that scenario for a really long time. I’m lucky enough to pass as a man. I mean, we are friends.”
Caroline, clearly shaken, responded softly, “I hope we are.”
The emotional exchange has left fans divided, with some praising Zelah’s composure and others questioning whether Caroline’s apology was enough to mend the damage. Big Brother’s Diary Room didn’t hold back, hauling Caroline in to address her “offensive” and “unacceptable” behavior. The warning was clear: any further use of such language could see her packing her bags.
But Caroline isn’t the only housemate making headlines for the wrong reasons. In a separate scandal, The Sun revealed that 23-year-old George Gilbert was dramatically removed from the house for “unacceptable language and behavior.” After receiving a formal warning earlier in the week—aired during Monday’s episode—George’s repeated infractions led to his immediate ejection. A Big Brother spokesperson confirmed, “Following repeated use of unacceptable language and behavior, George has been removed from the Big Brother House with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme.”
While some of George’s earlier warnings made it to air, the comments that ultimately got him the boot were deemed too inflammatory for broadcast, adhering to strict broadcasting standards. Tonight’s episode will feature George before his exit, but fans won’t see the remarks that sealed his fate.
