CHELSEA GET A BOMBSHELL: Mudryk finally speaks as Rosenior’s doping verdict remains in SHOCKING limbo.

Chelsea have been rocked by the prolonged uncertainty surrounding star winger Mykhailo Mudryk, whose doping case has dragged into a shocking limbo more than 15 months after his provisional suspension.

The 25-year-old Ukrainian international has now broken his silence through his actions, sharing striking videos of himself in training as he fights to stay match-fit ahead of a potential return — while the Football Association’s verdict on his anti-doping charge remains conspicuously absent.

Mudryk was provisionally suspended in December 2024 after testing positive for the banned substance meldonium, which he is understood to have taken while away on international duty with Ukraine. In June 2025, the Football Association formally charged him with an anti-doping violation, leaving him facing a potential ban of up to four years.

Despite maintaining his innocence from the outset, Mudryk has been barred from training with his Chelsea teammates or accessing the club’s Cobham facilities. The case has now stretched well over a year with no resolution in sight, leaving fans, the club, and the player in frustrating limbo.

In a clear sign that he refuses to let his career stall, the former Shakhtar Donetsk star has taken matters into his own hands. Mudryk has been renting the 3G pitch at Honeycroft — home to non-league side Uxbridge in the Southern League Premier Division South — just 20 miles from Chelsea’s training base near Heathrow Airport.

He has also hired a private coach and a goalkeeper to sharpen his finishing and maintain peak condition. Over the past couple of weeks, Mudryk has documented his solitary sessions on social media. On Saturday afternoon, he posted two videos to his Instagram story showing two sensational finishes inside the box. The winger stayed silent in the clips, but his surprised facial expressions spoke volumes — even he appeared stunned by the quality of his strikes.

Mudryk, who joined Chelsea in a big-money £62 million deal from Shakhtar in January 2023, has not played for the Blues since November 2024. His last appearance ended on a high note as he scored in a 2-0 UEFA Conference League victory over Heidenheim.

In his initial statement in December 2024, Mudryk declared: “I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to The FA contained a banned substance. This has come as a complete shock, as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules… I know that I have not done anything wrong and remain hopeful that I will be back on the pitch soon.”

His legal team echoed that stance after the formal charge in June 2025, refusing to comment further due to the confidentiality of the ongoing process.

New Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior, who replaced Enzo Maresca earlier in 2026, has admitted he is yet to speak directly with Mudryk but is keen to do so at the right moment.

“It’s definitely something that I want to do,” Rosenior said. “He’s a magnificent player. He’s had a really difficult time, and when the moment is right for me and him and the club, I’ll definitely have a conversation with him.”

The manager added that any discussion would need alignment with the board and sporting directors, and would focus on positively impacting the player’s career.

As things stand, Mudryk’s future at Stamford Bridge — and in professional football — hangs in the balance. Chelsea supporters can only watch on as their expensive signing trains in relative isolation at a non-league ground, posting highlights of his sharp finishing while the FA’s verdict remains stuck in shocking limbo.

Will the bombshell resolution come in Mudryk’s favour, or will the prolonged wait end in further disappointment? The entire football world is watching.
