Chelsea Still Obsessed: Blues Keep Tabs on Juventus Star Kenan Yildiz Despite Contract Block

Chelsea’s pursuit of young talent shows no signs of slowing down, and Juventus’ rising star Kenan Yildiz remains firmly in their sights. The 20-year-old Turkish sensation has caught the attention of the Blues, who are reportedly monitoring his every move despite Juventus’ confidence in tying him down to a new contract.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s interest in Yildiz has not wavered since their unsuccessful attempt to sign him during the summer transfer window. The young attacker has been a revelation for Juventus at the start of the 2024–25 season, showcasing his immense potential with six goal involvements, including standout performances in high-stakes clashes against Inter Milan in Serie A and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. His flair, vision, and ability to deliver in big moments have cemented his status as one of Europe’s most exciting prospects.

Under BlueCo’s ownership, Chelsea have built a reputation for scouring the globe for young, high-potential talents, and Yildiz fits their transfer strategy perfectly. However, they’re not alone in their admiration. Arsenal have also been linked with the Turkish international, setting the stage for a potential Premier League tug-of-war. Yet, a significant hurdle stands in the way of any move to England.

Juventus are well aware of Yildiz’s growing stature and are moving swiftly to secure his future. Romano revealed that the Italian giants are “optimistic” about negotiating a new contract with the young star, despite his current deal running until 2029. By offering improved terms, Juventus aim to fend off interest from Europe’s elite clubs and keep Yildiz in Turin for years to come.

“Juventus, the management, are optimistic about eventually reaching an agreement [to renew Yildiz’s contract],” Romano said, via CaughtOffside. “If Yildiz had wanted to go to the Premier League, I assure you he could have gone there at the start of the transfer window.”

This confidence from Juventus could spell trouble for Chelsea’s ambitions. The Old Lady’s proactive approach to extending Yildiz’s contract suggests they are determined to avoid losing their prized asset to the financial might of Premier League clubs.

For Chelsea to prise Yildiz away from Juventus, they would likely need to present an offer that’s simply too good to refuse—for both the player and the club. Romano emphasized that Yildiz’s talent has not gone unnoticed, with his performances drawing “normal” interest from top clubs across Europe. “Chelsea have always been very interested, and the Premier League’s interest remains because Yildiz is a fantastic player,” he added.

The Blues’ persistence reflects their belief in Yildiz’s potential to become a world-class star. However, with Juventus working to secure his loyalty and a long-term contract already in place, Chelsea may need to dig deep into their financial reserves to make this dream transfer a reality.

As the race for Yildiz heats up, one thing is clear: Chelsea’s obsession with the young Turkish star is far from over. Whether they can overcome Juventus’ determination to keep him remains to be seen, but the Blues are unlikely to back down without a fight.
