The Chicago Bulls are reportedly zeroing in on some candidates for their front office and head coaching positions.

The Chicago Bulls have some major questions to answer this offseason, including most notably who will be their next head coach and general manager after vacancies opened up in both positions at the season’s end. There has been rampant speculation over the last few weeks on who Chicago might be zeroing in on for their new front office regime.
Recently, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reported on a candidate that the Bulls are reportedly circling to be their new executive vice president of basketball operations: Minnesota Timberwolves executive Matt Lloyd.
“A source told the Sun-Times that although there was no clear-cut favorite for the job as of last Monday, Lloyd has taken the lead and could be named to the position in the next several days,” he reported. “… if he gets the Bulls job, he undoubtedly would make Micah Nori the new head coach.”
Nori coached the Timberwolves during part of their playoff run in 2024 when head coach Chris Finch was injured, and Lloyd has been one of the key architects who ushered in Minnesota’s current era of success, so it would certainly make sense why the Bulls would be interested in bringing him in.
Reportedly, the Bulls also have a leading candidate for the general manager position: Dave Lewin of the Boston Celtics.
Cowley noted that the Bulls could bring in “… someone such as Lewin as a GM who’s also in charge of the Bulls’ analytics department. Lewin has a strong background in analytics.”
The Bulls are coming off a 2025-26 season in which they missed the postseason altogether for the first time in a half decade. Chicago will hope for some good luck in the NBA lottery, which is slated to take place on May 10, coincidentally from the Windy City.
