HARD vs. SOFT: DIRECT COMPARISON of ‘I’m A Celeb’ challenges across seasons, this ‘downgrade’ has fans furious and demanding a REFUND!

The I’m A Celebrity camp erupted in cheers when Shona McGarty delivered an impressive eight stars in the latest Bushtucker Trial. But while the campmates celebrated, viewers at home were far less generous — with many blasting this year’s challenges as the “softest” in the show’s history.

On the December 2nd episode, hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly unveiled a brand-new Walk The Plank trial. Shona, joined by eager volunteers Jack Osbourne and Aitch, faced a sky-high plank walk where she could secure up to nine stars. Ultimately chosen for the task, the EastEnders actress navigated the suspended obstacle course and secured eight meals for camp.

But despite Shona’s solid effort, the online reaction was swift — and brutal.

Across X (formerly Twitter), fans accused the show of watering down its signature danger.
One viewer fired off: “Why’ve they made the challenges so easy this year in comparison to past seasons? #ImACeleb.”
Another agreed bluntly: “Trials have been easy as feck this year — the only truly difficult one was Jack in the tanks.”

Others begged the show to return to its infamous, hunger-fueled chaos:
“Bring back the trials where they all starve and argue as a result next year!”

Several complained that the safety gear alone ruined the tension:
“This trial seems quite easy — she’s got the harness on.”

And long-time fans demanded the revival of iconic segments:
“Bring back secret agent missions. Bring back dingo dollar challenges. Bring back feeding the emus. Bring back proper care-package tasks!”

The verdict from frustrated viewers?
The show has gone soft — too soft.
One critic summed it up: “This show has gone too soft. No doubt it’ll be even easier next year.”

But not everyone was unhappy. A portion of the fandom celebrated Shona’s performance, praising her fearlessness:
“Shona SMASHING THIS TRIAL — LIKE ALL THE WOMEN!”
Another added: “Shona for more trials please!!”

Meanwhile, the camp faced another shake-up as Vogue Williams became the latest star to exit after 13 days. Despite the exhaustion, hunger, and strain, the Irish presenter confessed she felt bittersweet about leaving:
“It feels good to be out… but it’s such a weird thing because you kind of want to stay as well.”

She added:
“It was getting really hard and I’m so hungry! But everyone in there is such good fun — I’ll be sad to leave.”

With fans now openly calling this season’s challenges a “downgrade” — and some even joking about wanting a refund — the pressure is officially on. Viewers want bigger risks, tougher trials, and the gritty chaos that once defined I’m A Celeb.

Whether ITV chooses to toughen up or stay soft… that’s the cliffhanger everyone is waiting for.
