After years of dominating the NBA, Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry finally made his Olympic debut with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Games. Despite numerous teammates having represented the United States in prior Olympics, Curry had not taken the opportunity until what may have been his only chance to do so. True to form, he did not disappoint, leading Team USA to a gold medal and leaving an indelible mark on the tournament.

Curry was a standout performer, topping the team’s scoring charts with an average of 14.8 points per game. However, his most unforgettable contribution came during the gold medal game against host nation France. Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo recently shared his thoughts on Curry’s iconic performance, particularly a jaw-dropping moment that defined the game.

Recalling Curry’s audacious dagger three-pointer over two French defenders, Adebayo admitted to being stunned yet unsurprised. “When he shot it, I was like, ‘What the f***?’ And then I was like, ‘It’s Steph. We let him shoot that,’” Adebayo said. The shot, a display of Curry’s unmatched confidence and skill, was capped by an unforgettable celebration—Curry turned away before the ball even went through the net, a move that left Adebayo in awe. “Seeing him celebrate by turning around before it went in was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen,” he added.

While most NBA players wouldn’t dare attempt such a shot, Adebayo noted that Curry was the only one in the gym capable of pulling it off with such flair. Curry’s heroics in the gold medal game saw him finish with 24 points, following a 36-point masterpiece against Serbia in the semifinals.
Curry’s Olympic performance not only secured his place in Team USA history but also gave fans and teammates alike a moment to remember forever.
