The Golden State Warriors are facing a sudden wave of injury concerns just as they prepare for a rescheduled showdown with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
After the NBA postponed Saturday’s game due to growing unrest in Minneapolis following the fatal shooting of a protester by a federal agent, the matchup has been moved to Sunday afternoon. That creates an unexpected back-to-back set, with the two teams also slated to play again on Monday.
The bigger story, however, dropped late Saturday: the Warriors’ updated injury report now lists Stephen Curry, Al Horford, and De’Anthony Melton as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Curry, the four-time champion and heartbeat of the franchise, has been added to the report with right knee soreness. The 36-year-old superstar looked explosive in the Warriors’ most recent game—a tough 123-115 loss to the Dallas Mavericks—where he poured in 38 points on 14-of-27 shooting, including eight threes, along with four rebounds and an assist in 34 minutes. He showed no visible signs of discomfort during that performance, making this late addition particularly surprising.
Joining him on the questionable list are veterans Al Horford (left toe injury management) and De’Anthony Melton (left knee injury management). Both played against the Mavericks and have been key pieces in Golden State’s rotation this season. While these designations appear precautionary—likely tied to load management on the front end of a quick turnaround—their potential absence raises real alarm bells.
The Warriors are already navigating significant injuries elsewhere. Star forward Jimmy Butler is out for the season with a torn right ACL, while young standout Jonathan Kuminga remains sidelined with his own knee issue. If Curry, Horford, and Melton all sit on Sunday, Golden State could be severely shorthanded against a strong Timberwolves squad.
