The Married at First UK star confirmed her TV romance had come to an end in a short social media post earlier this week
Despite sharing heart-warming final vows, Married at First Sight UK couple Rebecca and Bailey went on to split up around a month after the show.
The duo confirmed the end of their relationship on social media earlier this week, and 33-year-old Rebecca has now shed light on what actually happened.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan in an interview published on November 20, the aesthetics nurse revealed that “things changed” once filming wrapped.
Though the bride was hesitant about her new husband at the beginning of the experiment, fearing that he wasn’t ‘alpha male’ enough for her, the couple soon sparked a connection.
However, Rebecca shared: “Things changed for both of us when we left the experiment, and ultimately Bailey ended the relationship.”
She continued: “As Bailey stated in his recent statement, events that happened as soon as he broke up with me meant there was never any chance of us rekindling things.”
In a lengthy Instagram statement, Bailey admitted that he “didn’t handle the breakup well” but didn’t dive into details of what happened after their split.
But the MAFS groom has shut down speculation that he cheated on his TV spouse.
“I didn’t handle our break up well and for that I’m truly sorry to Bec, but I was completely loyal the whole way through our relationship,” he wrote.
When asked if she is on friendly terms with her ex, Rebecca told Cosmopolitan: “We’re now four months on since our relationship ended, and no I wouldn’t class us as friends.”
“But I have no ill feelings towards him. What we shared was so special and I’ll always be grateful for that,” she clarified.
Unlike Bailey, the Liverpool bride didn’t announce their split with a sentimental statement.
Instead, she posted a solo Instagram snap captioned: “To answer all the questions…. Yes, he fumbled.”
Just days later, Bailey seemingly responded to his ex with another post.
“Well, that’s all she wrote,” he penned on Instagram, before expressing gratitude for his experience on MAFS.
