Married at First Sight contestants hop online every year to blast ‘the edit’, which they insist distorts their stories to suit the reality programme’s storyline.
However, one former participant reckons the secret to conquering the notorious edit is staying as genuine as you can.
Nathan Campbell, 25, was matched with Hertfordshire bride Lacey Martin during the 2024 series.
Whilst the pair appeared perfectly matched initially, their partnership crumbled after filming wrapped.
Reflecting more than a year later, Nathan confessed: “We looked like roses and sunshine, but it was a different story off camera.”
The former MAFS groom has now found romance with fellow reality personality Abi Moores, who entered ITV’s Love Island in 2023 as a bombshell contestant.
Although his MAFS chapter is firmly closed, Nathan has revealed insights into how the programme is edited together.

When questioned whether he shares other MAFS stars’ criticisms of the editing process, Nathan explained: “Producers can only work with what they get.”
Speaking on behalf of Heart Bingo, he added: “So it’s really important to just be your true self. Because if you’re hiding behind a mask, it’s only a matter of time before it slips.”
The Somerset lad also shared his candid thoughts on this year’s participants, reports OK!.
“I actually feel a bit sorry for Steven. I think he’s a nice guy,” he revealed.
Steven Springett and his spouse Neelima Patel recently departed the experiment following allegations that the groom had been covertly using a dating application.
Prior to their departure, the pair had found it difficult to stay on the same page about their relationship.

Fellow 2025 contestants Julia-Ruth Smith and Divarni Groce Balogun also made a dramatic exit following revelations they had been intimate in private, despite Julia-Ruth’s claims that she wasn’t physically attracted to her spouse.
It appears Nathan had already harboured doubts about the South African-born bride, commenting: “I think Julia Ruth comes off as quite fake.”
Regarding the E4 relationship experts, the 25 year old had only praise to offer.
“They’re all really lovely and super clever,” he confessed.
Nathan went on: “Paul, in particular, is incredibly intelligent. Sometimes their reactions might seem a bit over the top, but that’s just to add drama and keep the show engaging.”
