Manchester United eye Aleksandar Pavlovic amid Casemiro uncertainty
Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic, as doubts grow over the long-term future of Casemiro at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga with his composure and tactical awareness, emerging as one of Germany’s most promising midfielders. According to reports from Caught Offside, United view Pavlovic as a potential successor to Casemiro, whose form and fitness have been inconsistent this season.

Bayern Munich are understood to value Pavlovic at around €80 million, a figure that could test United’s financial flexibility, particularly under current budget constraints. A January transfer appears unlikely, but a summer move has not been ruled out.
Manager Rúben Amorim is said to be pushing for a more dynamic and youthful midfield as part of his long-term rebuild. Pavlovic’s ability to dictate tempo and maintain balance both in possession and transition phases is seen as an ideal fit for Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
While United’s midfield has shown signs of improvement, the team still lacks control and creativity in central areas. Pavlovic could address that gap, offering both energy and intelligence in distribution.
However, securing his signature would be far from straightforward. Bayern are reluctant to sell homegrown talents, especially one tipped to play a major role for both club and country. United are also likely to face competition from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, who have reportedly expressed interest in the young German.
Alongside Pavlovic, United scouts are said to be monitoring other emerging midfielders, including Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, and Adam Wharton, as Amorim looks to inject youth and intensity into his squad.
