Mbappe receives a big ‘boost’ before facing Barca

Mbappé receives a big “boost” ahead of clash with Barça

Kylian Mbappé has claimed a prestigious award ahead of his upcoming match with Barcelona.

After a string of impressive performances recently, Mbappé overcame his teammates to be named Real Madrid’s Player of the Month for September. The French forward scored 10 goals in six matches, playing a major part in Los Blancos leading La Liga and maintaining their perfect run in the UEFA Champions League.

Upon receiving the award, Mbappé expressed satisfaction with his form and hopes to keep pushing for positive results with his teammates. He said:

“I feel very honoured to have been selected as Player of the Month once again. The whole team has secured many victories, scored many goals and we are heading in the right direction. We are truly happy with our current form and results. I hope that the team can continue this momentum.”

He added:

“This week means a great deal to us. The match against Juventus was important, but the upcoming clash on Sunday is even more special. We hope our fans will continue to stand by us and support as usual. They understand the significance of this match, and so do we. We hope everyone together will make it a truly memorable day.”

This is considered a major boost for Mbappé, as he prepares to play his fifth “El Clásico” of his career. In his previous four encounters with Barcelona, the 2018 World Cup winner has lost all of them with Real Madrid — which further fuels his hunger to get his first victory against the Catalan side.

He said further:

“This is a match that everyone is waiting for. At club level, there is no bigger showdown. You could compare it with a big Champions League match, but in domestic terms there’s nothing like Real Madrid versus Barcelona. However, we don’t just want to be part of this match — our goal is to win.”

Currently, Mbappé has scored 15 goals across all competitions and is temporarily leading the La Liga top-scorer list. That means if he and Real manage to defeat Barcelona in the upcoming game, they will put five points between themselves and their rivals in the standings — grabbing a major advantage in the title race this season.
