Cam Johnson stated that the Nuggets are keeping their attention on the bigger goal, responding to Jaden McDaniels’ comments.

After the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off a spirited comeback win over the Denver Nuggets, Chris Finch’s team was filled with excitement and confidence. In the heat of celebration, Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels took a bold shot at the Nuggets’ defense, calling the entire group “bad.”
Among those singled out was Denver forward Cam Johnson, who was also labeled by McDaniels as a “bad defender.” After Wednesday’s practice session, Johnson addressed McDaniels’ comments. Johnson said the Nuggets are focused on the bigger picture and are not concerned with off-court remarks.

“They just been saying a lot. All season, all series. Let them talk. Let them get everything they want off their chest,” Johnson said.
Meanwhile, McDaniels has shown a fiery edge since Game 1. During Game 1, Minnesota’s star received a technical foul for shoving Nikola Jokic from behind. Still, Denver has largely brushed off his comments and actions while keeping their attention locked on basketball rather than on confrontation. Johnson and the Nuggets remain fully focused on Game 3 in an aim to avoid getting pulled into any distractions.
Cam Johnson Reflects on Game 2 Collapse
Johnson also spoke about mentally moving past Denver’s blown 19-point lead in Game 2. According to him, setbacks are part of the postseason experience, and no one should expect a perfect run through the playoffs.
“It’s the playoffs. Unless you expected to win 16 games in a row, something is gonna happen,” Johnson said.
Now, the series is locked at 1-1. Game 3 is set to take place at Target Center on Thursday at 9:30 p.m. ET. Johnson and his squad will need to find a fresh approach to slow down Minnesota’s momentum while also responding on the court to McDaniels’ remarks.
