Not about love – expert claims Kerry Katona is only in it for the network’s paycheck

As Celebs Go Dating captivates audiences with its latest season, fans are glued to their screens, eagerly watching to see which of the six celebrity participants will find true love. The star-studded lineup, including The Chase’s Mark Labbett, former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona, Jon Lee, Christine McGuinness, Olivia Hawkins, and Louis Russell, promises drama, romance, and heartfelt moments. Yet, one celebrity’s motives have sparked debate, with relationship expert Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn suggesting that Kerry Katona’s participation may not be driven by a quest for love but rather by a desire for a hefty paycheck and public exposure.

Kerry, known for her candid personality, recently stirred the pot by admitting, “Honestly, I wanted a paycheck, exposure, and I wanted the therapy.” Her blunt confession raised eyebrows, but Dr. Tara believes these remarks are a shield, masking the singer’s deeper vulnerabilities. “Kerry has this comedic and hard exterior, but a very, very soft and sweet and girly interior,” Dr. Tara explained in an interview with Express. She argues that Kerry’s tough talk is a defense mechanism, and viewers will witness her emotional walls crumble as the season unfolds. “You will see us sort of thawing her away from her frozen demeanor, and you will see her journey. She’s a jokester,” Dr. Tara added.

Despite Kerry’s claim that she’s not on the show for romance, Dr. Tara insists the former pop star is, in fact, searching for love. Alongside co-expert Anna Williamson, who has known Kerry for years, Dr. Tara sees beyond the singer’s flippant comments. They believe Kerry’s unlucky streak in relationships stems from the intense public scrutiny she’s faced since her early days in the spotlight. “When most couples go through a difficult time, they can deal with their issues in private,” Dr. Tara noted. “Kerry and her partners don’t have that luxury. Unless you have strong compartmentalization skills, it’s hard to adapt.” She pointed out that many British celebrities, like Kerry, rose to fame as teenagers, a time when emotional coping mechanisms are underdeveloped, leaving them vulnerable to the pressures of public life.

The Celebs Go Dating cast has already seen its share of twists, with Christine McGuinness exiting the show, citing that it felt “too soon” after her split from husband Paddy McGuinness. Meanwhile, rumors are swirling that Kerry may have found a spark with fellow participant Paolo Magaglione during filming. Whether this connection blossoms into something more remains to be seen, but Dr. Tara is confident that Kerry’s journey will reveal a softer side desperate for connection.
