Sam’s ‘Take-Down’ in Big Brother Gets SLAMMED by Fans, Who Accuse the Show of Staging a LAME and DISASTROUS Exit.

Big Brother fans are up in arms, blasting the show’s producers for what they’re calling a “boring” and “lame” backdoor eviction that sent controversial contestant Sam packing on Wednesday night. The 27-year-old and his close ally Nancy were thrown into the firing line after racking up the most nominations from their housemates, but the twist that followed left viewers fuming rather than thrilled.

In a rushed public vote that lasted a mere 15 minutes, fans were tasked with saving their favorite—only for the loser to be booted out immediately. To amp up the drama for Bonfire Night, Sam and Nancy donned quirky rocket costumes in red and blue, respectively. Big Brother hyped the moment: “Sam and Nancy, tonight one of you is about to go out with a bang. But who will it be? If the display matches the color of your rocket, your time in the Big Brother House will go up in smoke and you will be evicted. Sam and Nancy, are you ready? Hit the button in 3… 2… 1… Launch.”

As the duo pressed the big red button, red fireworks lit up the sky, sealing Sam’s fate. Nancy was heartbroken, but Sam urged her to “go win it” for him. Yet, the explosive reveal fell flat for the audience at home, who slammed ITV for botching the execution by not airing it live and tipping off the housemates in advance—killing any suspense and turning the whole affair into a dud.

Social media erupted with outrage on X, where fans didn’t hold back: “Well done @bbuk – even by your low standards for backdoor evictions that was DULL. No impact whatsoever. Do. Them. Live.” Another vented, “Making us wait 24 hours to watch that dry and dull eviction, when they could’ve just done it live last night with time to spare…” The complaints piled on: “The whole point of a backdoor eviction is the surprise surely!” and “This is such a st back door eviction. Yes, I am going to complain about it. Where’s the tension? They don’t seem aed.”

Others dubbed it a “damp squib” instead of a firework spectacle, with one user raging, “It’s such a mess. Housemates are talking about backdoor evictions while in the house – they’re not even shocked at them happening. ITV have ruined it.” Fans dreamed of what could have been: “This should have all happened live. The bonfire fireworks should have went off and revealed who is evicted. Then AJ, Will and the Crowd should make noise and announce to the house and have them come out to a crowd. This 24 hour backdoor evictions happening days is b****ks.”

In a season stretched to seven weeks, many argued backdoor evictions were unnecessary and poorly handled: “In an extended series of 7 weeks where backdoor evictions could’ve been completely avoided… Like always, they’re not impactful or entertaining. This series is diabolical.” Another lamented, “Now just imagine they had to walk out the front door dressed like this. Or Nancy’s breakdown if Sam was evicted without anybody knowing first. ITV get it so close yet so far.” The consensus? “Why are we telling them in an eviction!!!! where is the suspense!!!!” and “The producers had an amazing opportunity to show a live backdoor eviction during L&L and instead completely blew it like everything else this series. ‘Tune in tomorrow to find out.’ FFS.”

“Never been a fan of back-door evictions, but isn’t the whole point that they’re meant to be a shock?! Telling them they’re about to be evicted totally kills the drama and makes it pointless!”

This backlash follows another shocking moment on the show. Host AJ Odudu was left reeling during Tuesday’s Late & Live episode when an audience member hurled a “completely unacceptable” barb at divisive housemate Caroline Monk. Discussing Caroline’s emotional phone call from her mum about fellow contestant Teja, the panel asked if viewers felt sympathy for the 56-year-old PR exec. One front-row fan quipped: “Her parents are going to die next week so she needs to see them before that.”

The studio gasped in horror, and AJ swiftly shut it down: “No, no, no – I’m not putting that out there.” A source revealed to the Daily Mail that the comment was even more jarring in person: “The entire audience were shocked at the contributor’s comments, which were louder in the studio than picked up on the mics for the viewers at home.” The fan has since been blacklisted from future appearances, with producers deeming the remark beyond the pale. AJ handled it like a pro, expressing her disdain while steering the show forward.

Viewers online were equally appalled: “THEY DID NOT JUST SAY THAT [skull emoji and crying emoji]”; “I don’t like caroline, but no amount of hate i have for her justifies anyone saying that.” One audience member confirmed, “I was also in the studio audience tonight and honestly we all gasped – and it was much louder than broadcast.” Others stressed, “Genuinely thought we’d misheard but obviously not. Completely unacceptable.” and “This is definitely not the view of the wider audience and I’m sorry that this was said.”

Caroline has been no stranger to drama this season, earning a formal warning from Big Brother for misgendering trans housemate Zelah. The show stated: “Caroline, Big Brother thinks that your language in these instances was offensive and unacceptable and cannot permit you to use language in a way that could cause offence to your fellow Housemates and the viewing public.” She’s also stirred the pot by refusing halal meat and calling housemate Richard “so f*****g boring.”

As tensions boil over, fans are left wondering if Big Brother can salvage this “diabolical” series—or if it’s all set to fizzle out in disappointment.
