Working alongside Starstruck CEO James Delow, Will acts as the executive producer of their first project, a coming-of-age scripted drama pilot called Truth Banana.

Insisting the venture will be in stark contrast to the doom and gloom of real life and some of Netflix‘s darker series, Will told The Sun: “We’re developing relatable, feel-good escapes for audiences who are looking to have their belief in the human spirit reaffirmed.”

James added: “Love, loss and laughter will be the three pillars of our storytelling, because the everyday moments in life that move us the most feel just like cinema.”

It’s not the first venture away from presenting for Will either after he launched canned Bloody Mary drink Bloody in 2019.

Explaining how the venture has been a long time coming, Will, who became a household name back in 2011 while presenting Channel 4’s teenage spin-off T4, said: “I fell deeply in love with James when we first worked together over a decade ago and have been desperate to bring more scripted ideas to life with him.

“To be doing this now with the wildly talented team at Starstruck is incredibly exciting.”

James added: “At Starstruck, we’ve always loved bringing human stories to life for our brand clients so it’s incredibly exciting to now be launching Originals with Will, where we’re developing this passion further through narrative content across film, television, radio, podcasts and vertical dramas.”
