STAMFORD BRIDGE BOMBSHELL: Thiago Silva may have just explained who Chelsea’s next manager will be after Liam Rosenior

Thiago Silva has never stopped loving Chelsea. Since walking out of Stamford Bridge, the Brazilian icon has stayed obsessed with everything happening at the club — and he may have just fired a very clear message straight to Todd Boehly and the BlueCo hierarchy about exactly who they should turn to next in the managerial market.

Right now, there is zero criticism of Liam Rosenior. Since taking charge in early January, the young Englishman has been rock solid. Chelsea have only lost once in any competition — and that defeat came against Arsenal. His impact has been even more obvious in attack, where striker Joao Pedro has been taken to an entirely new level by Rosenior’s leadership and coaching.

But while Rosenior continues to impress, Thiago Silva has used a major TV appearance to launch a passionate campaign for the man many believe is Chelsea’s perfect long-term successor: fellow Brazilian and former Blues left-back Filipe Luis.

Speaking on TNT Sports after Luis’ shock exit from Flamengo, Silva left no doubt that the 40-year-old is ready for one of Europe’s biggest jobs — and the way he spoke made it sound like a direct recommendation for Stamford Bridge.

“Did you see the news about Filipe Luis? It made a big impact here in Europe, right? Especially in England, it got a lot of attention because Felipe played at Chelsea,” Silva said.

“Can you see Filipe Luis is already capable, for example, of coaching here, of coaching a top-tier European team? No doubt about it. No doubt.”

Silva then pointed to Vincent Kompany’s journey as the perfect example. Kompany won promotion with Burnley, suffered relegation the following season, yet Bayern Munich still snapped him up — and he immediately won the Bundesliga. The message was crystal clear: focus on the work, not just the results.

“People didn’t focus on the result – they saw the work,” Silva explained. “Work leads to results. And the result of that single game can go any way — lose, draw, or win. But if you have consistent work, that will likely bring great rewards and major titles in the future. That’s what Filipe had at Flamengo — it wasn’t random, it was work.”

Silva went even further, revealing private conversations and showing just how much Luis lived and breathed Flamengo.

“Because besides being a big fan, I’m also a close friend. He would come to my house,” Silva said. “One time I finished training, called him at six o’clock to have coffee. He sent me a photo of the Ninho do Urubu parking lot: ‘Look where I’m leaving from.’ Training had finished at 10 in the morning. People don’t know this. Filipe lived Flamengo.”

Silva finished by slamming Flamengo’s handling of Luis’ departure, calling it “disloyal” to such a dedicated professional.

Back in January, when Chelsea appointed Rosenior, reports strongly linked the club to Filipe Luis as well. Now it has emerged that Chelsea’s owners BlueCo played a direct role in Luis losing his job at Flamengo. Luis reportedly went completely silent for three days to negotiate with BlueCo, only to discover he was actually being lined up for the Strasbourg job to replace Rosenior there.

Had that move happened, it would have been another masterstroke in Chelsea’s growing conveyor belt of exciting young coaches. Things didn’t work out, but the club will be desperate not to have burned bridges — especially after Thiago Silva’s glowing public endorsement.

The former captain’s words could not have been clearer. If Rosenior ever moves on, Filipe Luis is ready. And Silva has just made sure Boehly and Co know it.
