THE $50M BLUEPRINT REVEALED: Jerry Jones Unveils Cowboys’ Trade Deadline Strategy Following Statement Victory

Following a convincing win over their NFC East rival Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has shed light on the team’s strategy heading into the November 4th trade deadline. While expressing optimism about their playoff chances, Jones indicated he would maintain a patient approach and not force a trade.

“I don’t have anything in front of me right now that I’m interested in. I haven’t noodled up something that I might be interested in,” Jones told reporters. “You have to go within the boundaries of what’s possible and what you hear from other clubs… I’m not gonna holler into my pillow if we don’t get a trade, cause I feel good about the makeup of the personnel we have right now.”

This statement comes despite the Cowboys’ defense, even with signs of improvement in Week 7, remaining a significant concern. Entering that game, they ranked as the NFL’s worst unit in total yards allowed (411.7 per game) and passing yards allowed (259.5 per game). Meanwhile, the offense continued its elite performance behind Dak Prescott and Javonte Williams, making suggestions to target a running back seem unnecessary.

While Jones has a history of relative inactivity at the deadline, pursuing help in the secondary remains a logical need, especially with star cornerback Trevon Diggs still sidelined. The victory over the Commanders may have eased immediate pressure, but it doesn’t change the fact that a strategic move to bolster the defense could still be the key to keeping pace with the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East race.
